    Would you rather Microsoft pay more to their suppliers so they can pass those costs along to you?

    MS appears to me to be independent of passing costs or savings on to consumers, they simply charge what the market will bear.

    You can't blame the customer in situations like this. All they are are consumers who want a product.

    You can't blame the profit-driven corporations, if people want to be sheep/consumers, if they want to be told what they need and what they want, and not act like the free-thinking, self-realized human beings that they have the potential of being, then f*** 'em, let them be treated that way. Round 'em up.

    I think ookaze's point is that regarding choosing Windows, someone made the decision for you. And the method that was used to make that decision for you was illegal.

    My M-Audio Revolution 5.1 sounds much, much, much better than my SB Live and my mobo's built-in nforce2 Soundstorm at playing music in both Linux and 'doze, which I do more than play games (in 'doze). But then again I much prefer the Soundstorm for games.

    Most, if not all reviews I read say the Revo sounds better than Audigy 2. ... maybe most do though?

    It is my long-held belief that if we can point to one problem in this country that is responsible for human-caused shit it is people that can't follow a logical argument. You, my friend, appear to not be able to follow a logical argument: Read my lips:

    Back in Windows 95 day, I saw Bill Gates on Larry King Live and Gates said that MS had spent "several" hundred million dollars marketing Windows 95. Several is at least $300, right?

    The only way I see spending only $100 million possible is if MS is going to stretch its muscles and show the world who Big Bill is and get all the hardware vendors to chip in. ATI, Nvidia, Intel, AMD, Creative, Western Digital, and everyone else will help Bill spend maybe $1,000,000,000.00

    Speaking some years later in Yugoslavia, Khrushchev himself remarked, "I once said, 'We will bury you,' and I got into trouble with it. Of course we will not bury you with a shovel. Your own working class will bury you.", a nod to the popular Marxist saying, "The proletariat is the undertaker of capitalism".

    I think the old USSR f***ed up because they didn't give their people enough shiny things. My guess is that if they had given everyone pr0n, sitcoms, and sports to watch, they'd still be doing whatever it was that they were doing and their people would be loving it!

I will stretch my opinion a bit and say if someone is making money (remember when they wanted to make money off each eletronic transaction and banks told them to take a hike?) and it's not them, MS thinks they deserve to die!

    The RIAA is interested in just *one* thing - money.

    I disagree, I think what they want more than money is control. See, the way I see it is if they really wanted money then they would ask themselves: How can we get the most money out of each person? Instead of the anger and hatred with which they seem to face the issue. They seem to me to want to control where people listen to the stuff, who they can show it to, etc. Otherwise, I agree with the rest of your post.

    I almost put my first computer in the closet (Intel 486dx2-66, 8MB RAM, 1 MB Diamond video card, 420 MB HDD bought in 2/95) because I thought all computers sucked shit but fell in love with it when I found out the problem was really just Windows. I installed OS/2 (switched to Linux ~'98) and became a Microsoft basher immediately after that. ... that was also my only Intel CPU I've ever owned/bought. I'm an AMD slut.

    How can the icon of modern Physics be wrong? Well believe it or not, tens of thousands of physicists, engineers, scientists, and students around the world believe very strongly that Einstein is not correct. This does not Diminish Einstein in any way. His equation E=mc^2 and his Nobel Prize work on the Photo-Electric effect are still brilliant. It is simply time to move onto a greater truth.

    I admit it, I am crazy and my mind entertains me.

    I think I could be friends with anyone who made this statement...

    Now... are you and your mind two different things and if you are not your mind, who/what are you?

    While I do have a BS in Physics/Math, I lost interest in these when I became more interested in HOW it is that I solved physics problems. How do I do it? To learn about this process I study Buddhist meditation.

    But, to those who still want to study physical reality, please, please, please, read the following and tell me what you think. I did read this and I think it makes Einstein almost look like an amature, but I would rather spend my energy into studying the nature of thought than alternate views on reality.

    I say let's stop alienating ourselves from nature, we are part of nature, too, in spite of what Christianity has tried to teach us. (Unless, of course you still believe that we were put here to dominate over them). That's one of the many reasons I ditched it a while back.
