Wow, flashback to the 90's. There is really no such thing as RISC or CISC anymore. Even massive general purpose CPU's like the x86 family use cores that are basically RISC by the classical definition, at least at the microop level. Conversely, today's RISC processors have instruction sets that have grown considerably in complexity since the days of true RISC chips.

Your premise is correct that it is an apples to oranges comparison, but not really for the reasons you describe.

Yes, I am a parent. It's an uphill battle to actually discipline your kids and hold them accountable these days, because so many other parents in every income braket have abrogated their responsibility. Start holding them (the parents as well as the kids) accountable, and for crying out loud stop buying them every new toy under the sun! Make them earn something for a change. It's working for me. Is it easy? No. Is it necessary? Yes.

I'm not going to use both at once, so I match their MAC addresses. I authenticate on one of them, do some work or play, then switch to the other. At the last place I stayed that did this I even asked if they minded if I did that. I got a blank look and a 'uh sure, you shouldn't have to pay twice...uhhh'.
