    That would be all well and good if it were the Government's place to mandate minimum speeds. Frankly I'd rather see them focus on keeping the 'net free and neutral or forcing the telcos to expand broadband coverage like they were supposed to after all the incentives they got. Let market forces deal with bandwidth.

    I have no doubt that humans have some input into climate change. So did cyanobacteria, and every other organism that's ever lived. The whole craze of CO2 is 90% based in the politics of money and control though as it stands currently.

    As for the snyde part of your reply, I never said it didn't matter. Of course climate matters. The point is that there are far more powerful forces in nature shaping the ever changing climate than humanity.

    There's never been a point in time in the history of the planet that the climate has been static. It's always changing.

    CO2 is plant food, not pollution, and in ages past there were FAR higher levels of it in the atmosphere. Should we continue to strive to reduce all industrial emmissions? Of course we should. Should CO2 be high on the list? Not even close.

    Show me the possibility of ripping a hole in the space time continuum with the puny (yes, puny, very puny compared to many cosmic sources) energies we are using? Junk science can make for entertaining yarns, but it's hardly something to be worried about.

    I often find myself agreeing with your posts but not this one. While I do agree that the PCI (Payment Card Industry) needs some major overhaul, people are still responsible for their crimes. Yes, I do blame criminals for being criminals.

    You could have said the same thing without the marketing doublespeak. Never use lots of big words when a few small ones will suffice to carry your point.

    What you meant to say is the iPhone has a consistent user interface and provides a consistent experience to the user. You didn't need paragraphs of useless 'gobledeegook' to do so.

    In the post Star Was novels it was revealed that Palpatine had clones of himself. His 'essence' fled Endor and moved into a clone.

    Luke even went over to the Dark Side for a time, but Leia pulled him back and together they defeated Palpatine.

    Sounds like you didn't know what you were doing then ;)

    Frankly I don't find Linux to be all that much harder to install than Windows though. It's those edge cases with obscure hardware where Windows has always proven to be easier in my own anecdotal evidence.

    It's a clear sign that MS still has a (probably growing) fear of *nix, especially Linux.

    It's also an opportunity for some enterprising company or group to fill the void. All it will do is cost MS some sales. I doubt many organizations will migrate to Windows Server just for FAST.

    The ISS uses thrust to adjust it's orbit already. It won't 'ruin' anything. The Zvezda module already has two main engines used for orbital adjustments.

    The station loses speed continuously due to atmospheric drag (yes there is still a tenuous atmosphere up there). Using thrusters is part of it's existence.

    Star Wars has always been 'just a product'. Don't get me wrong, I adore the original 3 movies especially since I was a youth when I saw them in the theatres. Great Space Opera stories. That said, they ARE just a product and they are HIS products to fiddle with.

    Stop trying to pass off a bad strawman argument as if it were truly based in logic and fact. The energy of the photons in the UV part of the spectrum of the Sun is FAR greater than anything generated by a cellphone.

    It's not the number of photons, it's their energy, but I suspect you knew that already.

    I wasn't passing judgement on his seeking increased funding for our arsenal. I'm in favor of it. What I will pass judgement on is the fact that he's not done one thing worthy of the Nobel Peace Prize. It's become a meaningless pawn of global politics, the prize.
