  1. okay... on Why Can't the Command-Line be More Standardized? · · Score: 0

So, in order to make all programs perfect for you, we shall:

    1. force everyone who codes for free to use only one standard... or else?
    and
    2. make everyone who is used to the paramaters of a program, learn a whole new set.

    sounds good enough to me...
lets do it... oh, and while we are at it, lets standardise on a common gui toolkit, and a standard windowmanager.

ah, that is your problem, you are not trying to be "elite" but you are trying to prevent other people from doing things to help others. No one forces you to use any tool. heck you dont even have to use a fricking distro! you have the kernel, build your own! heck, or just keep running what you are running and never upgrade. why is that so difficult? why must we always have social groups that try to keep others out? are you so much better than the other man that you refuse to be next to him?

This is just a prison butt-fuck. they want consumers to bend over and take it up the ass on command. well, i know them as "brine shrimps" or something similar to that. When i grew up in Trinidad, there was a time my brother and i raised siamese fighting fish. and one of the thing that we fed em was those brine shrimps. you could buy em in the petshop, in little plastic bottles (they were the eggs or some such thing), put a certain amount in water and put a airpump in the container, and in a few days you have those yummy food to feed to your fishes. we also fed the fishes mosqutio larve. Ah those were some good days. I think i will give my brother a call and verify some of this info, since i do seem to have a bad memory.
