Remember, though, that it is *just* the first effort. The site just went up. And of course it'll be slow on its first day, when slashdot got to it. Give it time.
Is there any factual evidence for such an effort, is the poster confusing Lindows with Amazon, is he completely clueless or did a bunch of crack-addled moderators mod up a troll?
I've been a big fan of Antec. Never had one of their power supplies go bad. Very reliable.
Side note: I'm also a big fan of Antec's computer cases. High quality, sturdy, well designed. Antec's cases also have Antec's power supplies. You can't go wrong with Antec.
I'm not employed by Antec, but simply a satisfied customer.
I grew up in Miami. I can say for certain that Miami is quite unlike the rest of the United States. In some parts of Miami, Spanish is the *only* language. They say that you have to go north to reach the South.
Another thing. I don't know why, but it seems to me that Miami politics is about as corrupt as it gets in the U.S. I remember a Miami Mayoral election some time back that, I believe, had to be redone because it was determined that *both* candidates were corrupt. I think, but have no specific data to back this up, that maybe South Floridians, especially those with Latin American backgrounds, are just simply used to the corruption/dirty politics. Or maybe it's just the preferred way.
So in some ways, Miami can be considered similar to some third world countries.
And of course there's Disney World. You tell me how corrupt Disney politics is.
Scan a different signal into each eye, and you have 3-D
This would be extremely useful. There are many reasons to want to see things in 3D (medical, engineering, design, etc.)
Also it would bring 3D video to the home. 3D is possible at a theater, using glasses, by polarizing light and having different polarized filters on each eye. But this doesn't work on a TV because you can't polarize the light from a TV. But MEMS 3D would allow this.
Then, of course, there's the obligatory 3D pr0n.:)
As long as Open Office is fairly well maintained, I think that Star Office doesn't stand much of a chance. I rather doubt that Star Office will get any *must have* features that would set it apart from other office suites.

Duh...If you're rebooting, how the hell do you expect *anything* to start up???
The reason he's a fugitive, of course is because of the spouses. Office hours are simply for hiding from the authorities. Tenure helps.

Yes.
saying Microsoft/Windows. Everyone I know just calls it windows. Doesn't matter about the rest, if you say windows people know what you mean.
Just like if you say Linux, they understand what you mean. The Gnu/ part is implied, just like the Microsoft/ part.
AssHat.....
:-)

as shat? yeah I like that one.
As Shat. That's how windows looks to me.
Is it that slow of a news day?
Would you prefer dupes?
...and an infinite improbability too!
What I want to know is, just how messy was his apartment that the cleaning time would take as long as the time to write that article?
^^^ Nice choice of subjects. :-) ^^^

Imagine a beowulf cluster of these!

It was 1 to 2 inches in diameter as viewed through his windshield, Golding said, with about a 3-inch long tail.
Some fireball, huh?
How many standard Libraries of Congress is a shitload?

Daisy Fuentes with a milk moustache.
Now *that's* what Cuba's good for!
try to say Debbie Does Dallas DVD ten times real fast.
If they price something reasonably people will buy it instead of stealing it.
Sure, but the price of the Harry Potter DVD is about the same as any other DVD out there.
They're just trying to increase profits, that's all.
Also, I haven't noticed any difference in the video quality in the Harry Potter DVD. Does anyone know how macrovision affects DVD playback?
Just imagine, if you will, that this idea actually came true.
You are wearing this helmet, in your car, driving down the street.
The car next to you is blasting the latest (and greatest ?) pop song by the RIAA cartel.
You haven't purchased this CD, so of course your helmet fogs up.
CRASH!

Uh.... This is college.... therefore, it depends on the girl...
I myself wouldn't mind if she had a girlfriend, for what it's worth.
It's just like the razor blade industry. Except that you can't sell a half empty razor blade.
No, it's about draconian German laws.
That's not to say that the same (or similar) thing could happen here in the US.
