I'm expecting this comment to be very buried, but there is sort of a silver-lining.
TurboTax will offer you 110% of your refund (for download/disc versions, 105% for online versions) if you take it in the form of an Amazon.com gift card. It doesn't take long for that to more than recoup the cost of the software, even if you have to move up a tier. What's more, Amazon is offering discounts for Prime members.
If you're pushed (yes, I know, it hurts) into the Premier tier now, that is $54.99 for the download version. There will be an extra charge for the state file, if you so choose (but why bother).
If you choose to get $600 of any tax refund as an Amazon GC, you've just recouped your $54.99, and come out $5.01 ahead (because you're getting $660 gift card for your $600 return portion). From there, every $100 more you put on that gift card is another $10 in your pocket. You can even have Amazon create an order report for you to see what you spent last year.
I don't know, it's hard to get that upset about $10-$20 increase in costs for their software when they're giving me 10% bonus on anything from $100 to $10,000.
Without putting in my thoughts on the subject, I would simply like to point out that part of driving that car you use in your example is being licensed to drive it. That license implies certain requisite knowledge you demonstrated when applying for the license. So while the manufacturer may not have informed you, the state most certainly did.
That's not quite correct, at least not in Dish Networks case. You are free to record any Pay-Per-View event you choose to purchase on your Dish Network DVR, just as you would any other program. And you only pay for the original viewing, you can watch the recording as often as you like.
It sounds to me like there's a good chance that some of his music can show up in a wider variety of work now.
To me, this can only mean more games with fantastic music.
If there's one thing that can add to a game, it's music and the environment it can help create.
Seems to be a win-win all around.
(I assume it's too late for half-life 2 to get some, eh? 'kidding')
But I have DVR on my tv. I don't watch the commercials anymore. As long as the majority of people keep watching them, those of us smart enough (or sneaky enough?) to find ways around watching them will benefit from the blind stupidity of the masses.
Oh, and for those of you using firefox who haven't checked out the "Adblock" extension, you should, immediately.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is a plain AM/FM radio that happens to have a USB cable attached to it. Couldn't this same thing be acheived with very simple (probably readily available) software and any AM/FM radio with a headphone jack?
Moreover, I have a TV tuner that happens to come with a FM tuner as well, it performs all the functions of this griffin unit, and it cost me 50 dollars over a year ago. (Plus it came with a remote... and a TV tuner...)
I dunno, this just seems like a complete and utter waste of money, I don't understand why people are excited about it.
I've upgraded 3 machines so far. A 1 Ghz Dell Dimension 4100, a custom 1.6P4 and an IBM Thinkpad T21. All machines had started on Windows XP and been upgraded with SP1 already. They had been running for at least a month or two with SP1. The SP2 install worked flawlessly on all three with absolutely no adverse effects. I was impressed, as I had even allotted time for troubleshooting. Maybe MS *is* doing something right.
Speaking of MS doing things right, when they pay me $3 for each share I own, that's called doing things right in my book.
Well, that was a bit...

Misleading. I was expecting a far more interesting article, something omipotent, an article that people would gather from miles around just to read the catch line. Oh well.
good or bad, it's nowhere near other crimes. Murder, Rape, let's not forget international terrorism.
From the article it seems that a HUGE amount of manpower and time went into this "raid" and that it was wholly unsuccessful.. (Aren't CD burners free after rebate these days?)
With the resources devoted here, as it's been said before, maybe we could have caught a murderer who got away, a rapist off the streets. Something that's more helpful than a couple of crackers.
See how close your singing really is to your favorite stars....
Sing into your phone with some background music... see if you get recognized!
(If you happen to have too much time and money, that is)
It would seem that dropping shows that are most popular is more profitable then keeping them around...
maybe they're worried that they're bandwidth costs will rise as more viewers tune-in.
Oh, that's right, they're funded with advertising, so more viewers=more money! strange.
Maybe they got mad at all the FOX jokes in the shows... A bit of revenge.
But if they can manage an implementation at least a little better than the "hit-or-miss" bluetooth, especially when used across devices (pocketPC > desktop Windows > Desktop Mac, etc), then they'll have a winner.
If it's as easy as USB (finally) is to plug and play, then this could be huge!
Definetely something worth watching.
Assuming it's not cost prohibitive... Try and see what major landmarks your friends faces match up with!
Or see if you can make a model of an area, take a pic of it, and have the computer come back wiith the same area you just modeled...
Geo-Modeling competitions... the wave of the future?
In the government offices there's high ranking officials blasting pedestriands and running them over in long GTA3 marathons...
No wonder they don't want the bills passing...

Isn't a TSX an American branded Japanese Honda Accord?
Not anymore, it was axed, along with the TL, and they were both "combined" to make the TLX.
a new portable gaming device called XPSP2
With a name like that, it seems more likely to be a Dell/Sony combination, XPS P2.
Yeah, but all my music sounded really high-pitched afterward.

Will my food cook faster if I use processors that support MMX, SSE or 3DNow!?

Plastic magnets are clearly too advanced for you if you're still using floppy disks.
You may not have to give up any information for that newsstand copy, but you will have to give up that paper that you carry around with you.

How much are they going to charge for the little SLI connecter doohickey? I see a $50 premium to "let" the consumer use this SLI mode.....

Tighty Whiteys and a cape! Seriously, though, there's going to be a big hike in "costume sales" once this thing hits market....
