I don't buy that (no pun intended). These industries are heavily dependent on their revenue stream. Otherwise why would they be fighting so hard to maintain it?
The only reason they're making everything 3D is so people can't cam it anyway, stop making it sound like it's some kind of breakthrough in technology when it only exists to charge you extra.

Can't cam it, are you kidding? All one needs to do is put one polarizing lens (from say a pair of 3D glasses) in front of a camera lens and you have no problem.
The 3D (stereoscopic) movies I've seen, where done well at least, have provided a much more immersive environment than their 2D counterparts. This is *exactly* what stereo sound, and later surround sound, did for theatres. Of course they'll milk it to charge you extra, but the same happened with DVDs when they came out, and is happening now with Blu-Ray: it's new so you pay more for it.
Underwhelming? I think not - this is exactly what KDE needs, and fewer "feature" additions. Even KDE 4.4.3 still has major stability problems, at least for me.
You'd better hope there's no screwy extradition laws in force this week over use of unlicensed patented algorithms (which any software product is pretty much guaranteed to have).
I sympathize with your condition(s), but think you're missing the point. Which is that, irrespective of health, folks must still be responsible for their own actions.
At the risk of invoking the Godwin brigade, consider if Adolf Hitler was found to have aspergers, anxiety, depression and panic attacks (not an altogether unreasonable consideration). Would he have been pardoned because of his health?
How about this one, which is keeping Windows 7 out of the corporate market: 14. Domain selection drop-down box gone. You now have to type DOMAIN\USERNAME at the login prompt to log in to a different domain.
Honestly, it's like they're trying to give up the corporate desktop, which seems odd given that's where much of their bread and butter comes from.
Except for the Mac Book "Pro", that is :)
I'm guessing you've never seen the southern night sky :)
There was one posted here circa 2001 that used the same basic technique. I can't find the reference right now, but it linked to this picture.

Cut them off, now.
That's it we're revoking your independence.
All that goes to show is that people like the brief novelty of waving a magic wand around.
Honestly, do you really think the Wii would be anything without the wiimote? Seriously?
They're just trying to copy New Zealand (once again). Didn't work out so well for us.
... so in that case the Wii might just about have a show of keeping up then?
I just threw up a little in my mouth
From TFA, what they've found is a hole in what is believed to be the roof of a hollowed out lava tube, ie cave.
Appropriately, the image in the article is names skylight1.jpg.
Yes, very true.
However I believe only one of the above had an adoption rate comparable to that of PCI.
Can we get rid of PS/2,
They can do that the day BIOS makers implement powerup on USB keyboard events.
Now if we can just get these stable when faced horizontally, I see an awesome revisiting of the Archimedes Death Ray.
another Congo, and there's the gold.

Yes, just like colour film and stereo sound.
Stability improvements.

You mean like you are now?
(I assume that's where /. servers are hosted).

I suspect a fair portion folks here just talk about Asperger's as a code word for "like Sheldon Cooper".

What a bunch of ga-ga. I happen to have it on very good authority that radio is yet to have its finest hour.
Are you kidding? Iridium flares are one of the coolest and most predictable transient events in the night sky that can be seen with the naked eye.
... I would have tagged this article 'homeostasis'.
Please try to imagine a campus situation where thousands of 18-21 year old students use any number of computer laboratories for different courses.
