That's entirely possible. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if a few months ago Mr Armando Amado was approached by Microsoft with a lucrative mutually-beneficial proposal.
The major difference being that you presumably don't have to explain losing that penny to shareholders.

I don't know.
Perhaps it takes a couple of hours to recharge/calibrate its hypermatter reactor before it can fire off a second shot.
Maybe this is why the second Death Star is deemed "More powerful than the first". A faster recharge rate allowing what we see in ROTJ, where two large Rebel cruisers are destroyed by the superlaser within minutes of each other.
Exactly. You don't build model boats and planes to haul cargo or carry passengers. You build them because it's fun, and you have something pretty to show at the end.
I would support such a project if it included the following, none of which is provided by Macromedia Flash for Linux:
- Persistent quality (antialiasing) settings - Correct sound synchronisation (configurable a la mplayer if need be) - CPU usage throttle (or a 'nice' value I guess). - Renders all SWFs designed for Windows correctly (in many cases Linux Flash plays the wrong sound at the wrong time - very frustrating for language pronounciation programs.) - Fullscreen mode, at different resolutions (again a la mplayer)
Many 3rd party add-ons only work with MS Office. A couple of examples off the top of my head include Endnote and Crystal Ball. For people who need such functionality this is a show-stopper for migration to OOo.
I didn't include MathType, because after having used both extensively have concluded that OOo Formula is far superior.
This could also have implications for businesses that lose productivity to less scrupulous employees who pursue *ahem* non-work-related internet activities on company time. Block the.XXX TLD at the company firewall and you're set.
Does this mean that those of us who have no need or desire to visit pornographic sites will be able to avoid it completely by filtering out just one TLD at the firewall?
Naive of me I know, since there will be no real way of enforcing it, so.com.org et al still won't be porn-free for some time.
You're lucky. 10% of the computers I administer here are Macs running OSX (the rest are Linux/Windows PCs), and they cause well over 30% of the problems.
Tried telling OSX that a network print queue has changed recently? Or that you do want to connect to a windows server with ClearText after disabling it, since the other authentication methods are broken?
Mac OSX might have a pretty "just works" interface, but if you need to actually do anything with it, then back to the command prompt and that annoying "troubleshooting" time for you!

Of course we all know gaming journalism is broken. But if you think it's biased toward Sony then you've really got your head in the sand.
What's with all these XBox articles? I see it even has its own/. icon now.
The Playstation 3 is also coming out and with much more interesting technology than this XBox, but we haven't been bombarded with as much PS3 propaganda, have we?
Do we really think that Sony is more evil than Microsoft that we ignore them, or are we simply keeping a closer eye on the enemy?
I think it more likely that the editor, Zonk is a Microsoft shill.
Okay so we're not completely ignoring Sony, but their console isn't getting anywhere near the level of exposure as MS's offerring. IMO MS and their ventures are far more worthy of our contempt than just about any other company.
I still want to see more work done on Blender CAD.
Blender is a great visualisation package, but is absolutely terrible when trying to design real-world objects to scale, or something as simple as changing the overall colour of the object.
There's not actually that many changes that would have to be made to the codebase to achieve decent CAD functionality. I'd fix it myself but don't have the time. A sentiment echoed by many other developers, no doubt.
So they lost in order to set a precedent?

He's only viewing the Star Wars universe from an evolutionary perspective.
I was hoping for a more scientific foundation, but it's easy for some people to confuse the two I suppose.
I'm off to write to my MP.

What good can possibly come of this except for further lining the pockets of the copyright holder?

Some projects just don't need a practical aspect.
Debian Planet announces in their latest update that the sarge freeze is now official.
Hmmm...
congratulations to the Debian team on a true milestone.
This release is likely to result in a massive rise in adoption on both desktops and server rooms alike.
Take a rest now, you've more than earned it - but do keep those updates coming!
Relax, I'm sure it will just result in a mental projection of your digital self.
Thanks, I was hoping at least someone would get it.
I thought it rather fitting to the current situation.
Instead of announcing my position on Intellectual Property, I'm announcing that you're all... ...morons.
I can categorically say No.
Unless the PS3 and XBox360 turn out significantly better than the specs that have been released to date.

Are regular churchgoers less likely to believe life has evolved on other planets?
Bit of a two-pronged question there, don't you think?
I'd be interested in whether regular churchgoers are less likely to believe that life exists at all on other planets, regardless of its origins.
