    Sorry, but any job category that has an actual 1:1 male:female ratio is a statistical fluke. Period.

    If women want better representation in a given field, the jobs are there. They simply need to have the qualifications to earn them.

    And "has a penis" isn't among the qualifications.

    Women have equality of opportunity in this country.
    But that's not enough for some. They want equality of outcome. Regardless of how stupid the idea is.

    In short, anyone, man, woman, any of the umpty-zillion and one self-defined whatevers, if they believe in equality of outcome over equality of opportunity, please do humanity a favor and make sure these people never breed.

    The human race is already collectively stupid enough as it is...

    These companies keep coming out and closing down their IM services or replacing them with non-open services.
    And having to run multiple different nasty, intrusive IM clients just to stay connected is straight-up BULLSHIT.

    If their services aren't integrated into universal IM clients like Trillian, Adium or Pidgin, DON'T FUCKING USE THEM. Simple.
    Because if you do, you're basically committing yourself to a technological ghetto scene.

    Yes. But it's possible for Twitter to still censor, even when the stuff being censored meets its criteria for acceptable content.

    Simply because they're a private company doesn't mean they can't also be censorious outside of their AUP.

    Graphical engines, encryption, security products, etc, are all first-order products. And that's generally what's meant when talking about the technology industry.

    I understand that about the permitting and approvals process.

    The grid tie and permitting for install will ALWAYS be the boat anchor in the solar scenario.

    I just anticipate the installation and setup process to grow more and more idiot proof.
    Most of the people doing installs for themselves do some research. The rest have solar sold to them as "bling" and they're essentially just given an "idiot meter" to show them "SAVINGS!"
    What we're likely to see more of are more of the "blingers" trying DIY or DIY upgrades and doing something to put themselves in competition for a Darwin.

    It depends.

    Up until a few years ago, gaming cons were like that too. But as these things grow, that sort of thing falls away and the audience gets more diverse.

    Now we have creepy stalker-types coming in too as they think it's a target-rich environment.

    One of our demo agents (who could definitely fit the description of "babe") has had an especially annoying stalker pestering her at several conventions. As a result, we generally have several large and/or burly security types hanging out to offer assistance if necessary.

    Now this isn't to say gaming industry cons are rapefests or anything. But any growth in a convention tends to lead to diversification of attendees. And not all of said attendees are well socialized...

    No. Because it's a general gaming/geek culture convention. And not just for computers or focusing on the actual, underlying technology products in said games.

    What you look of as a "kit" is still little more than a bunch of components with the barest integration done.

    In the future we're going to see stuff that you simply unfold, place, hook up a couple wires and power on. Minimal actual "assembly".
