Some education here please.. just a tiny bit would help. It's not painful, I promise.

Wow, what can I say but that was a seriously uneducated answer. How come people can't think that there might be a way to better the situation than to turn off the lights? How about.. maybe.. just maybe.. use light fixtures that don't blast kilowatts of light energy into the sky where they're not needed? Huh? Can you answer that one? In fact, with the same amount of light energy, but directed where it's useful actually makes a much brighter area where people are walking, parking, whatever. To achieve the same level of visibility on the ground, and make the sky darker would actually SAVE energy.

Here is a little excerpt from the article (which you obviously are oblivious to else you wouldn't post foolishness) that seems fitting...

"A burglar who is forced to use a flashlight, or whose movement triggers a security light controlled by an infrared motion sensor, is much more likely to be spotted than one whose presence is masked by the blinding glare of a poorly placed metal halide "wall pack." In the early seventies, the public-school system in San Antonio, Texas, began leaving many of its school buildings, parking lots, and other property dark at night and found that the no-lights policy not only reduced energy costs but also dramatically cut vandalism."

You know, the blow your speakers out ones.. yes you know exactly what I'm talking about. Probably the most annoying thing about EU, well, along with shitty loot and everybody (other than the ubers of course.. somebody's got to play the carrot for the mules) bleeding peds out the wazoo. EU is a place where you go if you already have money to burn, not to make money. Trust me, that any company moves from SL to EU is not nearly as much of a "good thing" as you think it is, as it's not a failing of SL (as you all seem to gleefully think on EF), it's a failing of the companies in not having the first clue about the platform. I guess, though, that there are plenty of people there that would pay 300 ped for shiny new "Adidas arctic walkers".

Please don't paint all the players of EU (myself being one, as well as a SL resident) with the same brush of MA's brainwashing. I for one don't fall for it.

*Applause* Yes indeed. A related incedent that happened a couple of years ago.. my son, who was 6 at the time, was with me at a friends house. An aquaintance (older teen to early 20's) was also over there who always made sure that everyone within earshot was aware that he was a gaming god (in his own mind anyway). Well, as fate would have it, my friend engaged my son in a game of Halo (they play together regularly, despite the 14+ year age gap) and was having a hard time against my son (aka the norm.. my son has earned the nickname Berserker amongst my gaming friends for good reason hehe). Sooo, aquaintance decides he would have a go, and show my friend just how much he sucked that he couldn't *easily* beat a little kid. Well, I guess lets just say that his ego got the better of him, as he went down quickly.. over, and over, and over again.

Fact of the matter, Halo is a console series. Halo's controls work JUST FINE as demonstrated by millions of users over several years. It's not an argument over is keyboard/mouse better than controller, it's an issue of gameplay balance. A k/m combo is not practical for use on a console which will, the vast majority of the time, be in the living room. I am also, as another poster put it, not deficient in that I use k/m and controller with equal ease and acknowledge the fact that those who are adept at k/m will have a technical advantage. The problem with this is, in a match between controller users and k/m users, likely the k/m users will win not due to skill, but due to the unfair technical advantage this gives them. Keeping the playing field level by using identical hardware is part of the console scene. Deal with it. To me this argument always sounds like someone whining that they can't beat their friends with controllers so controllers suck, give them a keyboard and mouse and they'd show everybody what an uber-godlike player they are by beating the controller users and showing them how it's actually the controller that sucks and not them.

My response is.. Need some cheese with that?

I'm not penis-racist, and I don't pre-judge people that wear them. I just have no use for that in SL and only going from my own experience.. generally I am one of the ones in the area charged with the responsibility of asking people to remove them when they show up wearing them and normally there is no problem, though sometimes you get your leg humped as a response. About that time is when everybody then is laughing and pointing at him and he normally vanishes. If not, then he is introduced to our ban list (which amazingly is VERY short). Note that anthros are treated just the same as human av's in this regard... I don't care if it is sheathed, you're not wearing it in our area because it's against the rules of conduct.

I'm not in SL for the sex, as I have said already, and being in an area with a bunch of newbs around that think the freebie penises are a gift from the Linden gods that should be shown off with pride at all times is just not my bag baby. :) If someone likes SL sex, and they have their bag of goodies from xcite or whoever, and use it in their own home (or any other place where sexual activities are encouraged) in the way it was meant to be used, I have no prob and have friends that engage in that. I do not think lesser of them for it by any means.

So you do say you're racist against furs.. are you Gor? If so I can understand, but otherwise most furs in SL are just people that think the av looks good. Nothing more to be read into it. I can say that I get a laugh every time I run into somebody that starts up their "OMGwtfbbq bestiality!!11!one!" routine... ESPECIALLY if they're wearing a prim penis. :>
