  1. Re:If I produce a mod for Solitaire on FTC and Rockstar Settle Hot Coffee Dispute · · Score: 1

But it does matter, as the company that makes the game is responsible for what is on the disk. If there was never any intention of the naughty bits being shown, they should not have been on the disk. The thing is, there was an intention to show them, as topless dancers in a club. JUST THE SAME as there was originally intention to have the hot coffee minigame in GTA. Now, I'm not passing judgement on the game companies, 'cause I like the games (just got home from a friends where we were running vigilante missions in GTA:SA... the tank rocks lol), I'm just saying that there is no need to try and make excuses for the companies. Don't be lazy, keep track of, and clean out unused assets if they're something that could even REMOTELY get you in trouble. Otherwise it's just gonna look like it's hidden content there waiting for a hacker to unlock (as that is a thing that hackers do, by nature).

There is a slippery slope here. What do you think of this.. Say I create a game, hmm, maybe a teletubbie game. Now I can add some encrypted porn files in there, that can't be accessed by the game, don't tell anybody about it and tada! I've got a game rated (as my son says) E, for everyone (see, kids can be brought up to know what they can and can't have.. yes he plays Halo, no he doesn't play GTA... my discretion to allow him what I deem suitable for HIM). Some hacker comes along and finds them, well, guess what? I should be responsible for it.

I agree that Halo 2 was not all that it could have been. I'm not saying that I don't love it, just that it comes in second to Halo. I do understand the reason for the problems with it though, and it pretty squarely lies on Bungies shoulders. They made a pretty massive mistake, and basically had to scrap everything and start from square one... with like, 10 months to ship. I *think* they learned an important lesson from that... we shall see when Halo 3 comes out. If they did (and I can't really fathom that they didn't... cause it was like, hmmm, getting by a train), then Halo 3 will be all that is good and beautiful in the world (yes, I'm a fangurl.. of Halo, not M$)... with whipped cream and cherries on top :). My reasoning behind this is, if they can make something like Halo 2 in a mere 10 months, what kind of craziness can they create in a normal time frame? Yes, I'm waiting to be blown away. No rush. I'm ready when you are :). Just please, please, pretty please let it be like, 10X longer than Halo 2 was, since that was *my* major gripe.. not being enough of it to satisfy.

Oh, and the pistol would be nice to have back. Not that cheap thing you replaced it with, I want the real thing back.

I would think the smartest thing to do first is to learn what it actually is, so that one does not look like a knee-jerk reactionary that is clueless about the real world and only knows what a blog wants to feed them. I don't understand what this document is saying as I've not read it (though I'm still not sure if I'll understand it fully, at least I'd have the opportunity to see and question the actual words), but since I've read other comments which say basically "This doesn't mean what you think it means" I can't pass judgement for or against right now.

I'll tell you what though... I am a little bit afraid that blogs such as IPac might lose effectiveness (if they are shown to have it in the first place) by having a bunch of people run around screaming the "sky is falling" at the first drop of a summer shower. I would like to see blogs such as this be able to assure us that what they are posting is really something that we need to be worried about by doing something like... oh, I dunno, maybe actually posting a link to the bill in question so that we can read it ourselves to see if the sky *actually is* falling.

If any of you think that an aluminum case is actually better for cooling, in that you could get by with less fans for a similar case configuration, sorry to say that you're incorrect. This is a well debunked myth. Now if weight is an issue (which is likely would be in a gaming case) aluminum would be a benefit there, but in addition to the lighter weight you get a noisier case as the aluminum panels will add resonance that is not damped like it is with heavier steel panels.

Sorry to break it to you, but those are some NASTY cases. Oh, yeah, I'm sure I'm saying this because I'd secretly rather have one of those than my Coolermaster Stacker.. NOT. In fact the first one shown obiously has a problem itself in that it seems that it wishes it was a Stacker, but it doesn't come close to measuring up.

Sorry to put it to you this way troll, but if you like those cases you just really don't know what to look for in a case yet.

I think that was the worst article I've ever read at Tom's Hardware. I really didn't see a whole lot of value there, and the subject matter was terrible. It was like, "Hey, let's grab a handful of the worst cases we can find, and show how bad they are.". Well duh. With that small of a sample, why were 2 of the cases almost identical? I could think of so many other ways to have done that article, like actually had a good case in there to show what to really look for. I think the article was very poorly done. Many pages are nothing more than a series of pictures with a small caption of what the picture obviously is like, "These are the drive bays." or "The fan has a blue LED.". WTF is that all about? That's not a review, it's a description. A review would at least tell me if the freaking fan with the LED would keep my drives cool in those bays.

Now THAT was some awesome production quality, not to mention some mind-bending effects with depth of perception. No, I'm not going to get into the discussion about how it's not 100% absolutely the same as the books. It wasn't the books, and it could not be presented that way. Different media has different audiences and different requirements.

Personally I watch a movie to enjoy the story and not to see the effects. On that note, I agree 100% that the vast majority released in the last few years has been total shit. I probably couldn't tell you any movies released in the last year, but the most recent addition to my DVD collection was Herbie Fully Loaded. Gotta love Herbie :D. I guess that runs back around to childhood memories also, since I saw all the Herbie movies first run as a child. I do enjoy everything done by Pixar and Dreamworks and look forward to anything they do, as they seem to be the only companies capable of writing engaging stories nowdays. Finding Nemo blew me away :).

You sound like the nags going around saying that people who are pirating XP are the ones whining about Genuine advantage, when they are the ones that don't even see it. All this is causing the *legitimate users* problems, not the pirates. Pirates really couldn't care less, because they know the ways and means to get whatever they want, in an unencumbered format.
