Generally when I am asked about ram I always tell them to get as much as they can afford - especially in a machine with a slow HDD (like the mini). Another reason for that is it will take some pressure off the HDD and it might last a little bit longer than if it is being continually accessed every minute or so.
If you don't notice the difference don't spend the money. But before you say it doesn't use more than 256 - check your system monitor.
Look at the amount of memory you are using and then check how often it is seeking the HD. Trust me - there is a HUGE difference between 256 and 512 (but optimum amount would be 768 or 1GB).
I'm going to reply to my own post cause there are too many replies to mine.
1. OOo is VERY ugly. 2. Linux desktops are generally ugly. 3. Each new KDE/Gnome release it gets less ugly. 4. I like and use Linux for desktop and server systems. I also use Windows and Mac. They each have their place. Linux's is just in the closet:)
I would have to completely agree with this. My wife finsihed her BS, and MS in 5 years in Biological Systems Engineering and Industrial engineering with an emphasis in Human factors engineering.
She got a great job and her attitude is I'll treat you like a man if you treat me like a man. It has worked out perfectly. She works with a bunch of ex-sailors and she is as rough as they are.
Once there is a standard link in all cars it will allow a swarm like behavior in traffic. So instead of people taking the reigns in bumper to bumper traffic the cars and talk and decide amongst them selves what the best way to handle the situation. Each car will be interconnected to the others and as a cluster can decide how to best make traffic move.
This could also work as a sort of mass transit system on regular roads. If all cars can talk to each other they can notify the "train" that they are on the on-ramp looking to join in. Each car could be very close to the one in front and behind because there wouldn't be any surprises and sudden stops could be transmitted through the chain of cars.
If each car was equipped with such a system there would be more than enough computing power between all of them to manage the roads. They could even put in software that controls the traffic lights. When a large cluster of cars is approaching a light they can notify the light ahead and they can work out the optimal way to manage the stream of cars.
The United States Democratic Party is considered to be slightly right of center of every other western country on this planet. So I would have to disagree with you about our education system being "liberal."
If learning about evolution and not creationism in science class is liberal - than I guess we are for now.
To me, I think the republican party stands for religion more than anything else. They have lost the principles of small government and fiscal responsibility. They have also lost the ideals of isolationism in world affairs. The one defining characteristic of the current republican party is Christian "values." Of course affordable healthcare so people don't die in the street is also a value. Giving people a wage they can live off of is also a value. But those don't count I guess.
If you read the documents carefully - they aren't saying to 'claim' that there was fraud but point out past incidents of fraud. It isn't a difference of wording - it is a difference of meaning.
My point is that if the media is watching for voter intimidation it makes it hard to disenfranchise voters. I don't see how getting the media involved to help make voting fair and available to every body is a bad thing. Not wanting the media to watch for voter fraud is only the opinion of the people allowing/wanting the fraud to happen. Like you.

You have your facts wrong. They want their "operatives" to highlight past voter intimidation so that there will be a spotlight on the area to possibly make that intimidation impossible.
I didn't spend days rating and organizing my songs for nothing. Until some free (as in speech) app comes along that can import *all* my iTunes ratings and organization I wont be switching from my Mac or Windows PCs.
I'm thinking of moving to Minnesota but I need to find job resources - do you know where I should look for a job in the Twin Cities area? Could you email me? Thanks in advance.
I have a Canon Lide30 that works great under Linux - it is automatically detected under Mandrake 10 and I think I had it working just as easily under earlier versions of Mandrake.
The developers have changed Americas Army recently to include realistic "death drops." It is actually VERY creapy to watch someone shot in the head snap back and collapse and then roll down a hill. It really makes you not want to play anymore.
Yeah, it is crap. I got to University of Nebraska t Omaha and I have been to Creighton University (#46). Creighton has a couple of their buildings covered (not including the entire student center) but UNO has every single building covered in all the student lounges and in most of the lecuter halls. This list is bullshit.
I was an AT&T customer and I didn't realize how bad they were until I switched to Sprint. The coverage is MUCH better. Especially inside malls and big box stores like Target.
It also doesn't help that the world headquarters is in Overland Park Kansas.:)

I usually ask friends for beer. Family for food. And friends of family I play it by ear.

Yeah, I run OO under X11 on OS X - but it is as ugly as it is on Linux. Which is pretty damned ugly and slow.

You and the other 6 guys don't buy too many music players anyway. I'm not sure apple cares about that market.
So where is banning gay marraige in the constitution?

This is AWESOME! Now I get to compete with 350 MORE people for that ONE 25,000 yr entry level position!
Fucking a, alright!

Both... oh yeah, and because I wouldn't be able to mask my mistakes by buying politician and messing with accounting forms.
I will be the first to admit that I was so freaking WRONG when I thought they would flop. I guess that is why I'm not a CEO.
Man... I thought I was the only one who thinks the ladies with glasses is hot.

Honestly, if they took $25 off - I would SO buy a box of parts. That would be fun as hell putting it together.
Like a really rewarding puzzle.
