    I prefer to build my own. I buy the cheapest shit I can get, many times it does not work, slowly I am learning. But I love commodity pc hardware, no sense in paying apple or sparc prices for stuff that performs, I can do better on my own.

    Base IIS install complete with Nimda and Code Red.

    I once set up IIS with no patches on purpose to see how long it took until Nimda was installed. All of 30 minutes - via DIALUP into my ISP.

    Let them patent it. Let them charge money for it. Does it make Linux less useful or more useful? Just because Linux is free does not mean that every fucking program ever compiled to run on it must be. Get your head out of your asses and start thinking about making a buck, feeding a family, running a successful business.

    Yeah, what if it became a de facto standard.

    Like an OS that composes 5% of a desktop market can make anything a standard. What is the market for the new twisted SAMBA if Windows clients can't use it. THINK!!!

    That is the one thing I hate about the linux community. Too many of us expect everything for free. Companies need to pay workers. Sometimes I just wish Microsoft would bitch slap us.

    No matter what. Linux will not take the desktop, I don't care if M$ itself bought Redhat. I don't care if I have to pay for an OS as long as it is easy to use and powerful. I am sure most home users feel that way.

    I own a SunBlade. The standard hd is a Seagate Baracuda, not a bad drive if you ask me, for pci.
