I may be wrong, but I seem to recall that the importing of brain power from India has been going on for several years. However the exporting of work to India only started recently. Once more organizations export their work to India the flow of people coming from India will decrease, as they won't have to leave their country to find work.

So, even if this does go through and we do get a .mail TLD that is for only registerd mail servers. What happens when both companies/people owning the domains x.com and x.net suddenly want to get their x.mail domain to send mail. Who gets it? Maybe they're assuming people will opt for x.com.mail and x.net.mail. But that seems really annoying.

Massive Multiplayer games will suffer from lack of direction and aimless wonderings. It will basically turn into a huge graphical mud where end goals are side stepped and interaction (Fighting, talking to, making fun of, etc) with other members of the game are held in higher regard.

This to me would defeat the purpose of a game. If I wanted to interact with people in a meaningless way I would just wonder around outside for a few hours.

Might as well create a game called life and let everybody join. Provide an empty enfironment and let people wonder around. That's what would end up happening anyways.

  5. Re:Relativity on What If Dark Matter Really Doesn't Exist? · · Score: 1

Actually, with Einstein's relativity, doesn't Ptolemy's theories hold true? Everything is relative to a point of view?

Ptolemy's theories do not hold true. Ptolemy said that the motions of the planets can be explained by moving them through a perfect circle around the earth. Then when this did not satisfy the observations he added perfectly circular orbits around the original orbit. In otherwords as mars moves in a perfect circle around an imaginary point that orbits around the earth, both orbits in perfect circles.

Enistein sinply stated that an observer A in one location seeing another observer B move in another location cannot tell if it is observer A moving or observer B moving. If and only if the motion is constant and not accelerating or decelerating.

The two therories don't relaly have much to do with each other. Except that Einstein's theory re-inforces gravity which re-inforces the solar centered solar system view and not the geocentric view Ptolmey had.

Yes but the money the RIAA hopes to collect by suing p2p users won't end up in the pockets of the artitst. In the end it will always be the artists making the music that get screwed the most.

Ximian had indicated on their site for the past year and a half that they would support Deibian Woody once they released version 2.0 of their Ximian Desktop. Suddenly as of a week or so ago, they have pulled that FAQ item and changed their story to indicate that they won't be supporting Debian anymore.

On another note according to the Ximian Users list Ximian does not plan on providing support for Debian at all, and a group of Spanish developers is going to be releasing the debian distribution separately. (But they are still looking for people to help)

I'm glad to see other people noticing this. It's completly not fair to judge software running on different systems. It's even worse to use software that isn't the most popular. Zeus web from my understanding is not even close to as popular as say Apache. This just goes to show you that you can come up with specs that say whatever you want as long as conditions are setup to your liking.
