Is your microwave your friend? Sure, 100 years ago, heating food by putting it in a little box and listening to that strange whirring sound might sound like magic, or watching magical images on a flat screen that 'talks' to you would be amazing technology, but we dont call our TV or Microwave our 'friend'. Society is turning to mechanical devices for training children, for socializing, etc. When will people learn that man is a social creature, that we thrive with other people, not by watching other fantasy lives on TV. People go to the movies to fill a void in their lives that most will never know is there, but could be filled by the company of others. Sorry, just my.02 cents.:)
Why couldnt the patent's be setup for a 'peer review' before being validated? I wouldnt expect a clerk to know enough about how the internet works to validate the patent or not. Something like a temporary patent for a period of a month, etc, until it gets reviewed by people who know what it is!
"People using Windows XP with the stolen key will not be able to apply the service pack or any future updates available from Microsoft's Web site."
Can you say windowsupdate.kazaa.com ?:)
They say "Solid State Non-Volitile Hard Drive" as if its a marketing point, arent they just saying "this system has a regular hard drive in it"? I saw Solid State and thought "Ram-Drive" =) Can anyone enlighten me?
I setup a few different networks with a Promise U-ATA Hot Swap Kit, comes with a RAID card, 2 External Hot Swap Bays, and cables. Then you just get 3 identical drives, install one internally, and have the second inside of a hot swap cage. Set the system up w/ RAID mirroring. When you need a current, bootable, up to the second backup, simply pull out one of the drives, and plug the 3rd drive in (which is already inside of one of the hot swap bays) and let em re-sync. For about 5 - 10 mins the system runs a bit slow while re-synching, but its a no down time, 100% backup, redundent, and off site backup!! I love it! Sorry bout crappy format of post, heading home.:-)
Not everyone has the infrastructure needed to implement your web server mechanism
Ummm, an old POS box running windows98 and PWS (at worst case, granted) could do this. Have a passworded file share on it for heaven sakes, how hard now a days is a "web infrastructure" anyways?:P NT 4.0 comes with IIS and will run on P133 with low RAM.......
I get home after eagerly waiting all day, start the install, and as I go to insert CD-3, I see its labeled CD-1. Hrmm, so I check, and sure enough, I got (lucky me) 2 copies of CD-1 and 1 of CD-2, and no cd-3. I have got to tell ya, that drives me nuts!! Anyone else have a simelar experience? I bought this from EB.
Ohh man, I know what I am doing for lunch time! I played Wizardry 7 for SOOO long, I remember standing in the hallway of the Umpani Headquarters forever, fighting that battle outside the general's door to gain levels for DAYS!! LOL, my ninja's were the ultimate fighting machines.:) I'm going to say goodbye to my weekends for a while!! *grin*
You would rather have the whole world throw their hands up in the air and sit home???? Man, if you had a clue how many horrors happen around the world every day, you would never leave your bedroom. Its people who are strong and know that they have to move on that keep this country and its economy moving. The future is something created by the present, and if you think that because of this event you cant have fun anymore, I feel sorry for you. Getting on with your life means doing what you have done in the past. Because I play video games does not mean I am not aware of what happened. *yes, ranting and incoherent, but this anonymous coward needs a smackdown*
Imagine, US gets gigabit phones, and all phones act as relays.. how long till someone makes a java file sharing client for them? Kaaza for your cell phone?:)
Ya know, I hope this guy wins! As much as US Companies seem to LOVE copyrights, it would be irony if a person took on a big company like this and won. Not that yahoo is a "big bad company" or anything, but its just the whole little guy vs big busines, should be fun to watch it unfold. *grin*
Ya know, you are trying to get "first post" so hard you cant spell, and if you are not clicking on the "download" link as fast as your finger can move, what in the heck are you doing on this post anyways?
- Just a little rant against newbs who love to "post first"
Just FYI to anyone who reads this old post!:)
the laptops were all non-functionsla nd from a school system who abused them pretty well. thanks for the response guys! *grin*

My friends recently got several (over 10) old compaq laptops (486 style with monochrome display's). They made a sweet video of many ways to destroy them, some of which include burning with gas and rolling over with a truck. We will have it compiled into mpeg pretty soon, and if anyone is interested in getting a copy, gimme an email.:)

I'm having visions of loading all 14,000 (over 60 gigs) songs from my network onto this little puppy... I think I will wait a bit, hehehe. :)
Ahh, Mr Anonymous Coward, you can suck me. If you cant post with your name, piss off. :P
As a professional movie critic (laughs) I think the best way to get a higher ROI is to put trinity into a smaller leather outfit. *wink*
