Microsoft loves doing this kindof thing for students. In fact there are MANY colleges that sell microsoft software for 5 dollars.. Office is 10 dollars.. Reason? It just serves as another method of putting their product out in the market. Well this is just the same thing as these cd's.. they are UNLICENSED.. but only until you graduate.. then they send a license.. But its not really a big deal to them since students are getting use out of their products and they see themselves as helping the future generation of developers.
I can't believe that you guys would now try to look a gift horse in the mouth even though microsoft is being very courteous in helping people become legit for a very small price.
Stop microsoft bashing and worry about more important things, like getting laid.
What you can do is call 1-800-936-4900 which is Microsoft's Hotfix Line.. Tell them the Q article and they will pull it up and send a link in your email.
But I have already done this for you.. And I didn't forget you alpha users!
Also.. this technology seems very far away since the FAA won't allow planes with synthetic vision to get into worse weather than they currently can... FAA are movers and shakers... when they move on the product then you will see some action.
JEEPERS! People.. please preview what you are posting! it is not prcpreferred.html it is pcpreferred.html... but as I said... it obviously doesn't reflect how adobe feels about this subject. They are simply showing you resources to find an answer that you will like.
Stories that get posted like this one make upgrading to a suscriber account seem more and more feasable.
the link is http://www.adobe.com/motion/pcpreferred.html... But the webmaster titling that html page isn't "adobe".. Also.. this review wasn't even conducted by adobe it was done by an "expert". Also.. on adobe's site.. they don't claim anything, they simply pose the question "Prefer a PC for DV?"
Hopefully news submitters will start reading the crap they reference.
Well.. I dont personally program.. but that doesn't stop me from thinking about this..
Wouldn't it be apparent that the things Microsoft does to try to keep its market staying with them, will eventually be the things that drive them away?
Microsoft implements so much stuff in their products to prevent an "openness" that aren't these things just slowing down the programs? If we didnt have 2ghz+ machines would microsoft still be deveoloping algorithms that take up precious resources for the sake of keeping their software propriatary?
If Microsoft developed office that they tried to make it compatible in exporting and importing in every way, I think even more people in the open source community would be interested.. Wouldn't they?
With the absence of FCC police in a metropoliton area, enforcing the laws of power usage and whatnot is becomming impossible. Ofcourse you can submit a complaint but good luck having an offical actually come out and survey the damage, and while adding all of these cell phones to the mix sounds like a fun idea, its only going to cause many many problems. Why can't these hotspots be using a liscensed freq instead of publicly avaialble one? Especially now that the hams finally realised that they can use the 2.4ghz spec for data. Thats also an odd situation... The hams were way behind on the 2.4ghz issue.. they have had it available forever but was slow to catch on.. With all of these 2.4 freq. products, in a couple years we will be glowing green from all of the radiation.
Why don't we just install it under our skins and we can all be 802.11 hotspots ourselves.
Yeah microsoft was touting this program... Its not bad.. Its visually better and looks like they are just adding more and more shit... Only people who use crap like franklin covey shit will enjoy all the features, becase now they wont need to buy that program.
Also they are releasing a new program with all of this... OneNote link here
This brings up my next rant... Why can't we have a unified interface for everything I need to do?! Its like.. All of these updates are nice and all.. but I don't see any real innovations. Word Excel Powerpoint Access Outlook all in different programs is still a clumsy way to operate. Alt Tabbing or dual monitors isn't cool enough anymore.. I need it all in one program. Is there any project that is actually working on something like this?
I have wanted to setup a telnet bbs for quite some time and have searched for methods of doing it but have failed miserably. Just curious if some of you could post some helpful links to some of the better telnet bbs servers and locations for games... Paying a small price is not a problem.
It would be difficult because the hardware is built to do this, this isn't "software specific". A normal laser has specific areas that it can write to but the CRW-F1 has eliminated these rules to make MUCH finer "zones"
From the article you should have been reading: Yamaha has bypassed the EFM process which restricts zone size to between 3T (0.83 micrometers at 1.2 m/s) and 11T (3.05 micrometers at 1.2 m/s).
By far, the Yamaha's most interesting feature is its DiscT@2 (or Disc Tattoo) Laser Labeling System, which lets you burn graphics and text, such as signatures, logos, or pictures, directly onto the unused portion of CD-Rs. For example, you could burn the words 2001 Holiday Season all the way around the edge of a CD-R containing family photos. You can use any CD-R media with DiscT@2, regardless of brand name or speed, but we found the text to be more visible on CD-Rs with a dark-blue dye. On the downside, the DiscT@2 software can be difficult to master, and the included manual provides little instruction.
i find it humourus that people write like they know what they are talking about.. But have obviously never used the product, and never read anything to support their "claim"
you are incorrect sir... You must burn the data first and the TOC must be written before an "IMAGE" can be written.
Exactly.. The parent was just saying that there would be no room for most of the cds he makes because usually he likes to fill them up with data, thus leaving no space for a physical image to be burned onto the media.
I was VERY VERY sad that not a single nom went to Punch Drunk Love. Adam sandler acted supurbly, I think the academy was just to shy to even think of having the name Adam Sandler even be slightly associated with "Best Actor". Also again with the directing/writing... Paul Thomas Anderson's direction was great, and the story was one of a kind. Truly Beautiful.
Something that did effect the movie's impact on the US was the release strategy. Sadly the scheme was to slowly release it and let word of mouth take hold... Unexpectedly the audience didn't enjoy this side of Adam Sandler, and the "word of mouth" was that Punch Drunk Love stunk, thus crippling the box office results for the next week's "wider" releases. It's kindof the Jim Carey syndrome.. Meaning audiences did not applaud his roles in The Cable Guy, or The Truman Show for the good acting, they just wanted to see him say "Excuse me, may I... ASS you a question?".
I guess they are right though.. Sandler should have put a blender on his head and said "Im Crazy Blender man! Gimme Some Candy!"
Its just great to have people coming up with ways to massivly muccking up the surrounding area's PUBLIC frequency. The way they get away with this is because it will assist emergency distpatch.
The problem with hammers is they know how to, and do turn up the power on their equipment constantly. The FCC won't drive arround in their trucks an monitor the 2.4ghz freq, because there just isn't enough man power.
yeah.. just go with fluke and get it over with. If you dont have the money, then you need a laptop at both ends running any of the many network monitoring tools out there.
PageRank relies on the uniquely democratic nature of the web by using its vast link structure as an indicator of an individual page's value. In essence, Google interprets a link from page A to page B as a vote, by page A, for page B. But, Google looks at more than the sheer volume of votes, or links a page receives; it also analyzes the page that casts the vote. Votes cast by pages that are themselves "important" weigh more heavily and help to make other pages "important."
Important, high-quality sites receive a higher PageRank, which Google remembers each time it conducts a search. Of course, important pages mean nothing to you if they don't match your query. So, Google combines PageRank with sophisticated text-matching techniques to find pages that are both important and relevant to your search. Google goes far beyond the number of times a term appears on a page and examines all aspects of the page's content (and the content of the pages linking to it) to determine if it's a good match for your query.

Evidently they prefer it over competing fuels. This seems like a bad move on NewScientist's part.
