There's not enough in any one of those subjects to spend 1-2 hours of work on a night. You sound like the sort of teacher who can't be bothered to be efficient, because, after all, his student's time is shit.

How long does it take the most intelligent students to learn all the material for the semester? The least intelligent? How often do you let your intelligent students out of Calculus early in the semester because they've covered the material in a month or two?

If the difference between how fast your best students learn and how fast the worst learn isn't at least a factor of seven, you are wasting someone's time with your shit.

No -- Firefox is at the disadvantage. If you're a single user running as administrator, its auto-update is great. However, the users (all running limited accounts) on our Windows/Samba network will have to wait until I install the new update manually because there is no built in mechanism for administrators to push out updates.

And should I use my cobbled together scripts to push out a security update for Firefox on the last day of finals when it might break everything, or should I wait until Monday?

On the other hand, the WSUS server that I set up worked exactly like it was supposed to last night.

Finally, your entire premise was false. The original poster was "distorting" no facts. In fact, he said that the same logic that could justify abortion of a fetus could be used to justify the murder of an infant. His argument, unlike yours, was made up of arguable points.

    • This level of censorship will have zero practical effect on political speech.
    • Many, if not most, of the people upset about it use the internet to look up pornography and break copyright law — two activities with no socially redeeming aspect.
    • If you disagree with the last statement, you have let your brains dribble out your ears. I'm not going to argue with your tortured, whiny, refutations.
    • Although free political speech is a useful good, it is not infinitely good. Democracy is the modern religion, and is just as silly as worshipping Zeus ever was. Limits on (usually non-political) speech should be considered and imposed when they make sense, as they often do.
