now why does that make me think of the Higgs boson ? That's supposed to be what gives mass to other stuff, right ?
Maybe dark matter is clouds of Higgs bosons, and after the LHC manages to detect them, we'll find better ways of detecting them and suddenly find where all this dark matter stuff is.
Or not, of course. I'm just pulling that out of my ass, after all.
I already unlearned that behaviour years ago; but just today, I installed an out-of-browser gmail checker so I can keep my browser closed when I don't need it, in hopes of reducing temptation from gmail as well as/. and other devilish sites.
I still need my browser too much for other stuff, though, so the temptation to quickly parse the rss feeds for new stuff is still there. I have a long way to go:-)
Monkey Island, Indiana Jones,... I must've gone through them dozens of times, over the years. No,they're not right-now replayable, but they haven't lost a single bit of their charm and playability.
> take Zelda games
Yep. I haven't been much into Zelda, not having much of a console history, but I got a Wii, and Twilight Princess has been one of the most enjoyable adventures I've played in a long time. I've recently gotten access to a DS as well, and I'm looking forward to playing Phantom Hourglass on that.
Such a package is indeed a matter of convenience, so I'm willing to leave that to personal preference; but I will keep insisting that no package should touch conffiles unasked.
Erm... doesn't signing a *draft* petition amount to signing a blank page ?
"Dark flow" eh ? So the universe is female, after all ?

> And so far, zero terrorist attacks launched out of O'Hare.
Which goes to show how well the anti-terrorist security policies are working !
Elephant repellant, the lot of it.
So what you're saying is that he's an iNazi ?
Paradoxically enough, your comment also appears to be approved by the hive :-)
Not at the LHC facility, it isn't.
Relatively constant, yes, but constant at a much lower level than hard drives - there's nothing that needs to keep spinning.
I'm no expert, but I imagine you need to keep few things beyond the cache under power.

> There should be a separation of business and state, for the sake of both.
So business is the new church ? That does explain quite a few things, yes.
Here comes the grey goo.
The real question is, how long will it take until someone writes a computer virus that infects another, common virus ?
That could then, in turn, lead to botnet wars, where hackers write virophage viruses to try and take control over another's botnet.
And then we'll get Botnet Wars on telly :-)
Obvious things are often the hardest to see.
> This is slashdot, not digg, and I hope that we have the capability to hold discourse to a higher standard.
Ymbnh.
The cat may or may not be dead, but if you wait long enough to open the box, it'll starve anyways.
Yes, because serial version numbering is so very very confusing to the average luser.
Not 1993 yet, though, not by a long time.
> you simply can't hide anything like that in space
Hey, the Vogons hid an entire fleet from us, until they destroyed the planet.
> Puzzle games are less replayable.

Are you really blaming Apple for being an efficient, well-run company ?
Which lets Apple make $1.411.764 per employee, while HP made only $336.569.
When do we get the RFC for IP over Carrier Sundog ?
Pony pancakes ?
Why doesn't someone patent the process of patent trolling, and sue the bastards to hell and back ?

They're doing it wrong! :-)
