    What are the chances NASA will send up STS 108 on schedule?

    100%, STS-108 was already sent. Next mission scheduled is STS-114. STS-107 was delayed several times, for over two years before launch.

    But is is!
    The second is defined to be such-and-such 10 to the power of something of the half life time of this radioactive element.

    In 1967, scientists agreed to define the second as that period of time which makes the frequency of a certain radiation emitted by atoms of cesium-133 equal to 9 192 631 770 hertz (cycles per second). In other words, if we really want to measure a second, we count 9 192 631 770 cycles of this radiation.

    The meter is defined by anchoring the value of c (velocity of light in vacuum) to 299792458 m/s.

    Pico sucks! No search&replace, no multi-file support. No general block manipulation. No line number without keypress. Yuck!

    I use PINE all the time with enable-alternate-editor-explicitly and with joe!

    Actually, I did -- I searched through the options on pine and didn't find where I could have it randomly choose a sig, so i wrote a shell script to do this, then call pine. Works quite nicely. I've even bothered to update it once in a while.

    There is an option to do that! PINE allows you to use a script as your signature. Simply use "~/mysig.pl|" as your signature and then do the sig selection in the script. Works like a charm!

    Don't know about you, but I use PINE as my only e-mail client everywhere. It's better than Netscape mail and all others I have tried...

    You don't have to form a for-profit company. Form a non-profit orgnization for the production of software. It's much cheaper and you get tax benefits.

    The W3C recommendation does not mention <LINK TYPE="prefetch"> as a link type, but it is allowed to add new link types.
    The W3C recommends adding a profile attribute to the <HEAD> element to sepcify this.

    The API is cross-platform. This specific theme is designed to use OS-native widgets
    As stated in the FAQ, the theme uses the OSX Appearance Manager to render the theme, and thus is designed only for OSX.

    Actually, I watch TV only when I feel like it. I don't have cable, so I we get only TWO channels, and only one of these has anything good on. My mother tapes a few programs I watch, and once in a while I watch an entire season in a row.
    I only watch live TV when there's important news (and as I live in Israel, it's more often than most places).

    They can still proxy HTTPS. The user will access the great firewall with HTTP and the firewall will make the HTTPS connection. HTTPS doesn't help here.

    I replied with the following:
    1) Open window
    2) Pick up computer
    3) Throw computer out of windows
    4) Viola - 9.8m/s^2 acceleration!

    Actually, it will work even better making the command a script that will notify the admin and then kill the server at a given time, e.g.

    At the Haifa(Israel) Linux Club, we meet in a classroom of the local technological institute, which we get for free (including a windows PC+Internet with projector, and ability to connect laptop). The faculty agrees to help, as several club members are TAs or employees of the faculty.
