Since they can calculate where something may hit Earth, has anyone calculated where this one COULD have hit?... the article didn't say anything about it...
If you were to read the article... and especially the notes on the graph itself... you would notice that the red line is the "Hype Time"... from announcement to actual product in peoples' hands... shorter is better...
That being said... if you take into consideration that these chips are being produced on the machines that they are going into, you can really see that the rate/quality of the 3D chips are on a parallel performance curve to that of CPUs...
Furthermore, once the next generation of video bus comes out (ISA -> PCI -> AGP -> ???) then I would venture to guess that the limiting factor won't be the video card for large scenes ( >1600x1200 )...
Oh, and I'd like to mention in this anonymous forum that I steal bandwidth...
Pssst... hey... it's only anonymous when you post as anonymous coward (NOT using your ID, which also displays your email)... but even then its not really anonymous...
You know... hate to say but you're on to something here... could it be that MSNBC License is encoded into your 'National ID'...
Of course, if they were smarter, the TV would then have a proximity detector and then the TV could just turn off if someone comes in that has not signed the EULA...
... no need for foil hats now...

So... in other words, if Felton HAD gone forward and published the paper, along with giving the lecture... and IF the RIAA had sued him, then he may have a case against the RIAA.
However, since the RIAA backed off quickly, there is no dispute between the parties.
Now, an interesting point would be that IF Felton would go forward now, he may not be harassed by the RIAA. Since the RIAA would know that he would fight them. OTOH, it may look like Felton was trying to pick a fight with them, and the judge may rule against Felton on that... (though judges aren't supposed to)

What about Triangle Boy? I believe that I wasn't the only person to download that piece of software for Linux... (I couldn't get an image for the Win2K version, since it installed over the web).. .
I use Netscape Communicator 4.76, and just for kicks and giggles, I went to http://www.msn.com... it pulled up just fine, though it looks like crap, since it uses IE specific HTML code.
Question to manufacturers ... come out with an AMD version of these super-small, super-integrated systems, and you'll be able to sell many ...

$0.50 per 1KLOC .. up to 10KLOCs .. $0.35 per 1KLOC from 10KLOCs to 50KLOCs ... etc.
Or will there be a per character fee?

The question stands ...
137GB should be more than enough for everyone ...
The more RIAA forces us to use DRM, the more MP3s will slip through their fingers
Uhmmm ... don't you mean the "most stable OS that microsoft has ever purchased and repackaged"?
Ahhhh ... but it depends on if it's an African Scramjet or a European one.
