  2. DB-9 versus DE-9 on The Web Is Not the Internet · · Score: 1

Isn't this a lot like the DB-9 versus DE-9 debate?
You've probably never actually seen a DB-9 sub mini connector, yet that's what we call the connector commonly used for serial port connections. Except that's really a DE-9.
The tech world allowed them to become synonymous so long ago, that today no one can even recall that there is a difference.

Your RPI medal will get you a half price discount at a great school and a degree that will easily unlock many doors just on the name alone.

RPI is where so many key technologies have originated (including Ethernet!) and that will continue to be true going forward. It's also a school that encourages undergraduate participation in such projects. You'll never regret the opportunity.

Shows how poor our educational system has become if you think that 100 years ago was one room school houses. Around here, 100 years ago was about 1911, you know, large brick schools. Look at the corner stone of the 'old' high school in your town.

That quote is not from the Sandvine paper.

At any time you can buy a full price phone and walk to another provider. This exclusivity debate is because we want discounted devices.

I can go to the store and buy an Xbox points card and go home and use it to download a copy of Halo for XBox onto my XBox 360, or I can just go to the store and buy a copy of Halo, probably for less than the $15 worth of points.
I'm not going to defend Sony, especially with the stupidity of their ideas, but I still think it is one of the intentions of the card based system.
