I'm sure the terrorists will remember this and not attempt to override the autopilot, which I'm sure will be possible. Otherwise, I'd really question getting on such a plane.
At first, I was dissapointed that they didn't go with Peter Lada's design. But this one is starting to grow on me. However I have a few problems with it:
"Read more" would still be better off on the left, with the other stuff on the right.
No clickable title links!
"Posted by" info is too big and bold and distracts from the key info.
No obvious hint for collapsing the left menus.
Don't see much of point for collapsable menus in the first place, it's not really needed in this situation.
Bottom part of article looks disconnected from rest. Using a non-linier gradient fill might solve it without changing the design much.
I think the font in the side columns could be knocked down a size, and maybe knock the article text up one.
Yeah, but my entire point IS that not everyone is dropping cameras in reefs while doing research to protect the oceans (and reefs, themselves). I'm not talking about the many other people causing damage to reefs for whatever other reasons.
I agree. I could really use MacBook Pro. But 3 weeks? That's pushing it a little, especially if they want decent CSS templates that have been debugged for browsers etc. And passing it through the design community is also a good idea -- especially sites like A List Apart.
This really begs the question: Have you ever been depressed?
Most of the time, when people are truely depressed, they don't do much constructive. Perhaps there are some times where depression may lead to something insightful in art and literature. But to say that it may have prevented Lincoln from doing anything about slavery really shows a lack of understanding of what depression is. If you want to know what Lincoln's thoughts on slavery were when he was depressed, it probably would have been something like "who gives a fuck?"
I pretty much never use cash. If I go to a place for lunch that doesn't take EFTPOS or CC, I simply go somewhere else. However, I keep a bit on me for emergencies.
I hope this is only a Beta thing. It's kinda funny that they'd even consider embedding CSS considering how lean they make all their sites. I guess each page will have a different style and probably won't have many repeat visitors. But if many people visit more than one or two pages of a site, it would still probably save quite a bit of bandwidth.
You give them too much choice. Sometimes people don't want to choose. I mean, if these screenshots are a critical tool for developers who need to see very specific screenshots, then I can understand that. But if they're just meant as a curiosity...
Why would you want to override the fonts on some sites, but not others?
Perhaps they meant "override" rather than "disconnect".
I'm sure the terrorists will remember this and not attempt to override the autopilot, which I'm sure will be possible. Otherwise, I'd really question getting on such a plane.
I hope this is sarcasm (well, it is, but not sure in the context I'm thinking of), as that's pretty much all that's changed.
Why should they when you can set your browser to always use the same fonts?
Oh... Sorry... Was someone trying to be clever? Because it just came across as pretentious and stupid.
Yes, until Tuesday, when they release the new MacBooks.

Oh yeah, because dropping the odd camera on some coral is really the same as killing off entire reefs.
I thought it was the French that were the terrorists when it came to Greenpeace.

Oh ... OK ... I wonder if the interface will look like this.
I don't see a photo of the new phone anywhere on the page.

I think the only infuence the accountants would have would be to use PPPP-PowerBook, rather than a PowerBook :)
More likely the writers.
Pretty much the same crap that always get's modded up here.
I didn't realise that when he said that he meant that every browser was rapidly improving.

Ah well... Touche.

Care to explain why I'm a moron? Or are you just an idiot who like to insult people?
Woah... When did we get an auto URL filter? It even corrected the single slash I put after "http:".
