of what some would call the pussification of America. The conditions are no worse, and in fact a heck of a lot less stressful than they were. Yet now for whatever reason we need to make it all a big deal.... because they're bored.
A few homeless people who hang out in the NYC subways all day catch it and see how controlled it is. Total nightmare scenario, and far from unrealistic. Why bother with suicide bombers when all you have to do is get a half dozen people infected and send them on the next airplanes to who knows where with instructions to maximize exposure. They don't even need to be successful and you'll see travel restrictions that dwarf after 9/11. Just what the world economy doesn't need right now.
Which is why there are accounting rules. I'm not saying it can't/isn't being done. But it isn't as simple as you lead on either. It's more about accountability to all the other people giving money for grants. Who would do it if they had no way of insuring the money they give goes to what they are giving it for.
Whose fault is it when you have 50% of the voters and can't fill 50% of the seats? Either women don't care and are too stupid to vote themselves in. Or they are smarter vote for men because they know they are the better choice. Which is it?
While you're at it, ask the person who at 40 is an atheist what his beliefs are. I'm not saying they all convert back when looking over the abyss, but a fairly decent number do.
Coming from a government official this is the ultimate in government social engineering to get rid of those who are no longer contributing as much as they are taking. This is a pretty nicely veiled attempt though, will give them that.
The real question is why do we live in a society that thinks they need actually see this as opposed to reading. I didn't need to to go search out the video to understand the significance of what happened. I think the fact we live in a society that seems to "need" to see such is very telling. Whether you've seen it or not changes none of the facts, and in no way should influence how you feel about such matters.
Doesn't matter if they are losing money or not. It is their product and thus have the right to determine how it is consumed. Stay in business or go under has no bearing on the rights of the copyright holder who whether you agree or not legally dictates how they want it to be consumed.
The money spent trying to stop piracy is a direct result of piracy. So you can take that money spent right off the bottom line and attribute it to piracy.
The fact is people do receive a service without paying for it. All you have to do is find one person who has downloaded a movie instead of going to see it in the theaters to prove this. Let's be honest here and compare the number of people who download movies so they don't have to spend money to see it to those who download them to see if they want to spend money. We all know how that number looks.

Because it's a pain and people are lazy.
It could be up to 10 years before they can have a replacement up to this level testing. Sounds crazy, but not unrealistic.

The Death Star proved that. Overwhelming support. Brushed under the rug. This administration is a joke.
