AOL vs. Trillian
·
· Score: 2, Insightful
Flamebait Disclaimer: I am trying to be insightful, if i come through as flamebait, eh, oops.
Trillian is a better AIM client. It has so much AIM doesnt, for example Secure IM (128kbit encryption on both ends), and those things that it does (direct connect aka IM Images). You can make Trillian look nice. You can give your friends aliases so screen names have meaning. You can use AIM, IRC, ICQ, Y! and MSN. There are no advertisements. It is free.
As of November 2001, AOL had more than 32 million subscribers. Each pays $21.95 a month for full service. (Yes, i know there are cheaper plans, but the majority of the people are stuck using AOL dialup). Thats an estimated 704 million dollars a month ($22*32000000), just from AOL/subscribers/ alone(remember, it is AOL/Time Warner.) These people make an obscene amount of cash every month!
An even better point: AOL owns ICQ. I can still log into ICQ via Trillian. Why do they let it go with ICQ? Why does AOL let people send mail outside of their network? It's the same principle, and a sad one at that
You'd need a timebase controller(TBC) that takes out the 21st(i think) line of an NTSC video signal - Kind of expensive though. I believe the most widely used DRM "technology" is called Macrovision. (Random fact: This is why its recommended you dont hook a DVD player to a VCR, it should be directly hoooked up to a TV)
Not everyone has a drivers license. Does this mean my grandmother would have been considered "sketchy"? What about my friend who cant drive because of a vision problem?
They should be two different cards, one issued when you can drive, and one as a form of ID.
1/3 is greater than 1/2 - just look at the 3 and the 2, man!

2. XP is for eXPires
Microsoft has invented the software that eXPires as the customer can only install the software a certain number of times. If you have a virus, need to upgrade your hard drive, want to clean up your HD, add another component, change PC or any other reason to install, your software gets closed to death.
Get your facts right. Microsoft has stated that they dont care how many times you install XP. When you activate it, a *hash* based on the hardware on your system is sent to a clearinghouse. If most of the hash matches, your computer becomes activated. - Patrick
... the gene pool?

Yes, there is a linux version. Ask around for it though, it seems that KaZaA has taken it off their website. It was called "KaZaA Media Shell 0.4"

What you need is a kinescope. This is how it was originally done :-)
I read documentation, I experimented, I'm 15.
I think make menuconfig/make xconfig make it easy, personally.
I find it funny that a website trying to reverse engineer a MS product uses IIS.

Perhaps they can research some of the brain damages and annoyances of the x10 popunder ads and give out a cookie that gets rid of them for more than 30 days.

I wonder if this will reduce EF emmisions, and in turn reduce the possibility of van Eck phreaking?

Why do we jump to conclusions with Linux?
It is entirely possible that a BSD could be used, as most BSDs are free as well.

Will this make game production for the playstation possible by end users who know c/cpp? And can we use console

Yes, I've found 3-D Pinball to be an extremely useful database tool ;-)

Voluntary? Whats the point then? A Drivers license is voluntary.
Think they'll hire the guy who says "you've got mail" for AOL, to say "you've got virii" for MSN?
