find decent 3d interfaces on my 1.5ghz machine with a cutting edge video card. I wouldn't expect it from a portable device!
Although this could be used well for GPS systems (as mentioned in the post) to display maps with altitudes.
Imagine how great it would be to have a FPS type of map of where you were? All you have to do is look down into your PDA and move arround the map to find out where you want to go. Oh well a man can dream.
I don't see what the advantage of his is for people who live in areas that have access to cable or dsl. Its wireless but not for the end user. Its wireless all the way to your house and thats it, you can't pcmcia cards for it or anything. You still have to get your own little wireless network in your home.
I think this would only really be good for last mile areas and maybe in high rise buildings that can't afford the wiring.

They gave it the best in show award. Not the best playable game award. They decided that their demonstration was the best. Its not that complicated. They didn't say it was the best playing game, they said it was in the best in show. As in a trade show, product DEMONSTRATION people.
OpenSource projects will probably never attain the commercial level of art that comes with commercial games. Sure you can have a couple dozen people submitting great images but they could all be of a different style and not work well together.
Thats exactly the problem in FreeCiv, the graphics are but ugly and none of them go together. Some are at different views! You need a structure, you need a lead artist who will determine the style and you need people working for him.
you've just graduated and you think you're the king of the world and above everyone else because you have a degree and you're trying to get a job as a Lead Programmer or lead something else.
Get a lower job like JUNIOR programmer and make your way up. Its the best way to get your talents noticed. If you only go for the highest paying and highest jobs you'll never get it. Theres millions others who just got a degree this year. Give it up, you're not special because you have a degree.
If everyone who had a degree automaticly got a good job there would be about 100 times more good jobs out there. Get your head out of your ass.

How about instead of dropping the price of hardware they lower the price of games? No way I am paying $80 CND for a game that will be fun for less than a week.
Nothing makes me hurt inside more then going to a store and seeing GBA games for the same price. I can understand that some games have multi million dollar budgets, but game boy games don't. 4 guys in a basement could do a decent game in a few months.
Once again Chris Carter has screwed over his fans. Every year he claims that all will be revealed in the season finale, and of course it never is (except for that one time alot was revealed), after a few seasons I ignored it but I actually thought all would be revealed on the last episode, EVER. But no, nothing whatsoever is revealed and infact nothing happens. The first hour and half is pretty much a "best-of-x-files" thingy. A bunch of people testify about the x files while showing clips of older episodes.
In my opinion Chris Carter just used this episode to let people who stopped watching catch up so they will know where they are in the future movies. Carter knew everyone would watch that episode and he's created a huge market or people ready to watch x files movies. he could of atleast given us one last good episode.

I think I have a general idea of what happens in the movie. Now that Neo is a threat, armies of Agents come after him and his buddies. So him and his buddies have to fight an army of agents. And then towards the end they would free everyone from the matrix and the third movie would involve taking back the planet from the robots.

Don't get me wrong, I love apple. But is Slashdot trying to turn slashdot into a mac only site? Especially with that reminded to visit the apple site. Something fishy is going on, money from apple perhaps?
