Much better than Clear Wimax. They throttle everyone all the time because they were never prepaired to handle even the smallest of loads. I have complained to the BBB about them because they have called me an excessive user when I watch 1 Netflix movie while my son plays on the XBox with XBox Live in the same evening. They advertised 6Mb/s download speeds and I am fortunate to get 1.5Mb/s down most of the time. Other than the first week of use, I rarely ever see 6Mb/s downloads, and I am only a mile or so from the nearest tower.
Its what I have been telling everyone all along. Skynet. Why won't anyone listen to me? It's the beginning of the end! Bleached white skulls! All of us!
What it proves is that science isn't all that and a bag of chips as the beginner of this thread attempts to lead us to believe, and that maybe we shouldn't dismiss the possibility that we are not perfect, and not even close to knowing everything.
I bet a lot of those people prayed to God to get better. He didn't save them...
Save them from what? Let's say you're the creator of the Universe. You reserve a place of paradise called Heaven (streets of gold, no sickness, disease, anger, hatred, etc...) for your people. You allow many of the people praying to you to enter in, maybe even before their designated time, because being the creator of the Universe, you see what's coming for those particular people based on their free will decisions, and you want to save them from it.
That's one thought, and I am not saying that's what happened, but try not to assume things. It's the lowest form of knowledge. If you really want to be able to make statements about the way the creator of the Universe thinks about people and prayers and such, you should really talk with Him about it and read up on Him in His book. You know, the same way you would learn about things like, evolution.
I am not here to "impress" the creator of the Universe. As a matter of fact, there is nothing you or I could EVER do to "impress" the creator of the Universe. That's what's so cool about Him. You don't have to impress Him and He loves you anyway. As a matter of fact, you can completely dismiss Him as many of the people on this page have, and He STILL loves all of them and would welcome them at any point in time if they were to choose to hedge their bets on Him. Matter of fact, He would think of you as wise to hedge your bets on Him. More wise than all the scientists in the world. His love is unconditional. You don't have to be perfect, or impress Him to receive that.
See science and the Bible comments below...
The Bible and Earth's Free-float in Space
At a time when it was believed that the earth sat on a large animal or a giant (1500 B.C.), the Bible spoke of the earth's free float in space: "He . . . hangs the earth upon nothing" (Job 26:7). Science didn't discover that the earth hangs upon nothing until 1650.
The Scriptures Speak of an Invisible Structure
Only in recent years has science discovered that everything we see is composed of things that we cannot see--invisible atoms. In Hebrews 11:3, written 2,000 years ago, Scripture tells us that the "things which are seen were not made of things which do appear."
The Bible Reveals that the Earth is Round
The Scriptures tell us that the earth is round: "It is he that sits upon the circle of the earth" (Isaiah 40:22). The word translated "circle" here is the Hebrew word chuwg, which is also translated "circuit" or "compass" (depending on the context). That is, it indicates something spherical, rounded, or arched -- not something that is flat or square. The book of Isaiah was written sometime between 740 and 680 B.C. This is at least 300 years before Aristotle suggested, in his book On the Heavens, that the earth might be a sphere. It was another 2,000 years later (at a time when science believed that the earth was flat) that the Scriptures inspired Christopher Columbus to sail around the world.
The Bible and the Science of Oceanography
Matthew Maury (1806-1873) is considered the father of oceanography. He noticed the expression "paths of the sea" in Psalm 8:8 (written 2,800 years ago) and said, "If God said there are paths in the sea, I am going to find them." Maury then took God at His word and went looking for these paths, and we are indebted to his discovery of the warm and cold continental currents. His book on oceanography remains a basic text on the subject and is still used in universities.
The Bible and Radio Waves
God asked Job a very strange question in 1500 B.C. He asked, "Can you send lightnings, that they may go, and say to you, Here we are?" (Job 38:35). This appears to be a scientifically ludicrous statement -- that light can be sent, and then manifest itself in speech. But did you know that all electromagnetic radiation --from radio waves to x-rays--travels at the speed of light? This is why you can have instantaneous wireless communication with someone on the other side of the earth. The fact that light could be sent and then manifest itself in speech wasn't discovered by science until 1864 (3,300 years later), when "British scientist James Clerk Maxwell suggested that electricity and light waves were two forms of the same thing" (Modern Century Illustrated Encyclopedia).
The Bible and Entropy
Three different places in the Bible (Isaiah 51:6; Psalm 102:25,26; and Hebrews 1:11) indicate that the earth is wearing out. This is what the Second Law of Thermodynamics (the Law of Increasing Entropy) states: that in all physical processes, every ordered system over time tends to become more disordered. Everything is running down and wearing out as energy is becoming less and less available for use. That means the universe will eventually "wear out" to the extent that (theoretically speaking) there will be a "heat death" and therefore no more energy available for use. This wasn't discovered by science until recently, but th
There are many things the people in your field have done to benefit the world. However, your comments crack me up. "Religious extremism come in many flavors folks, and if we are not careful, we are going to lose our edge" Did you know that in the book of Ecclesiastes King Solomon talked about the water cycle long before it was ever 'discovered' by you brilliant scientists? Good thing we had you around to give us that "edge" huh?
What about this one?... "Those societies that have embraced education and science historically are those societies that survive." In 1918 an estimated 20-50 million people worldwide, including 675,000 in the United States bit the dust because you brilliant scientists couldn't figure out how to overcome a virus called influenza. Wow, I can rest easy putting my faith in you for sure!
I got news for you pal. There is one inevitable, and that is death. And there ain't nothing in the world you brilliant scientists can do about it. You just better hope all that science that you have so smugly placed your future in is smart enough to figure out how to keep your little but from becoming a crispy critter upon judgement day.
You are appreciated, but to dismiss the possibility that you were GIVEN your abilities is risky business. If I'm wrong, so what? If you're wrong... ouch.

One other thing. I don't pull punches with people and I don't bother with people that do. If the staff was that way, I would know it. I am the IT guy under a desk fixing a computer or around a corner that you may not know is around when you are talking and in 7 years I have yet to hear anything that doesn't line up with The Word.
Sorry to hear that. It's sad to think there are cancers in everything, but it's true. And good people suffer for it. I apologize for that as a representative of PHCC. I can be sure of one thing. It wasn't me. I don't pull that garbage on people. If you ever feel like giving PHCC a second chance, come see me personally. I will make sure that doesn't happen.
Wouldnt know, but PowerHouse Christian Center is fantastic! I've always said, I have had a heck of a lot more fun working for God than I ever did working for Satan! Life's good man!

How can anyone say that Mt. St. Helens actually pollutes? I mean, isn't this just a natural volcanic reaction, and if so, how can a planet pollute itself with it's own elements? Isn't this just part of being on this planet?
Good points. I actually have contracts with companies where all I do is come in once a week and clean up their systems (unless they have specific issues). We're talking a solid consistant income. 2 hours a week every week for each company. Most of those people don't want to know how to clean it up. It's kinda like being the janitor or the Jiffy Lube guy. If the users really cared to know, they might be able to handle it. Most just want the stuff done, and want their PC to work right when they come to work each day and don't want to know how it all happens. They look at me as their savior (i've lost count of how many people have called me that), and don't mind paying me to be so.
I have to say, it's not just spyware removal vendors that are making the money. I am an IT consultant who makes housecalls, and my business is booming!
I wonder how long before the government gets involved. I mean, once Senator Clinton gets tired of all those porn pop-ups and spyware on her machine , it's just a matter of time before she tries to pass a law to ban it. Of course, if she would stop visiting those not so proper sites, she wouldnt have that problem.
Speaking of which, I NEVER have pop-ups/spyware/adware. Why you ask? Because I don't click on things arbitrarily, I don't visit the not so appropriate sites, and I use Firefox, and it blocks pop-ups very well.
When I heard the call on my life to work in the ministry, my long time IT experience allowed me to start an IT Consulting company. Which, in turn provided me an income supplement. I guess that makes me a Jesus Geek?
I had the Kyocera Smartphone 6035. What a waste of money (for me). I had to have it replaced 4 times till I finally convinced Verizon to replace it with a differnt phone and brand all together. In reference to the main thread here, I found that I used the addresses, and calendar more than anything else. It wasn't worth carrying that bulky thing on my hip for. So I got a motorola T720 and I do all my scheduling on that. Still needed to do planning though and went to Franklin and got a planner. To each his own, but I just never used my PDA like it was intended to be used.
Why do this? What will it accomplish? I am not being sarcastic. I am truly curious. What is the goal here? Is there money to be made from this? Do we think that Microsoft will adopt this if it is accomplished?
See! It's garbage like this that will keep Linux from ever taking over. It's frustrating. I want all my machines to be Linux boxes, but I dont have tht time to worry about stupiid things like this!
Ha! That was funny! I kid you not, I have never heard of Pascal's Wager before today. But in reading the problems with it, I realize how much effort satan would go through to thwart a basic logic.
Baal or Zues huh? I'll pass. I still like what my God has to offer. Where is the book on those guys anyway? What are their teachings? If they were a powerful god, wouldn't they have made their teachings the most prevelant and available teachings around? Unless of course, they believe in letting people just believe in what they want and run around with no real accord and not get involved. But then, that would mean we are here for their amusement, because they haven't offered us anything to look forward to. Nope, I'm stickin with mine. Thank anyway.
It would appear you intelligence is derived from the same location as your god.;) Do you dislike everyone who offers a differing point of view to yours? I am sure you have many friends.
But just to humor you and just in case there is someone truly intrigued by your rant...
I go with the God that provides proof. He has proven Himself to me time and time again. Even though He should never have had to. Surely you can relate to accepting proof. What's that? He has never proven Himself to you? Open your eyes. How can He prove Himself to you when you choose to ignore Him?
I could close my eyes to evolutionism and I would not be giving it a fair chance. However, I gave evolutionists the chance to prove their theories to me and they have failed. Have you found the missing link yet? No? I didn't think so. It's funny how you will place your acceptance in a half-baked theory riddled with holes and lacking answers. Yet call me insane for talking to God.
OK, you win. Evolution is for real. Although evidence is lacking, I concede. God does not exist. Now what?
You get to sit on your death-bed however many years/minutes from now, and say "Well, it was fun while it lasted. Guess that's it. See ya.", and you get to look back and see your life pass before your eyes. You might even give a smug little smile about how you had it all figured out. Those stupid believers, and then that's it. Done. Finished. You are history.
Me on the other hand, I'm sittin there on my death-bed, and I get to look FORWARD. I get to go in ANTICIPATION of what's next. I have the knowledge and COMFORT that my family will be with me sometime soon. I get excited thinking about when the creator meets me and says "Thanks for believing, and welcome." The only sadness I have is thinking about those who didn't end up believing and what they are going to go through.
Hmmm. looking back vs. looking forward.
Weigh our two acceptances and
your fate will either be one of two things...
1) If you are right, looking back and then nothing, conceding to the end.
2) If God is right, suffering eternally with satan.
My fate will be one of two things...
1) If you are right, looking forward and then nothing, but I don't care cause I'm dead anyway, but I went happy, not conceding.
2) If God is right, looking forward, eternal life, joy, love, happiness, family, etc...
Yes sir. You sure got it all figured out...
