    I agree, look at APEX, they make some very acceptible dvd players but most people buy them as a second player due to there cost, and the fact that other industry players would not (at least at the begining) support VCD, SVCD, or MP3 on their players (like a Panasonic A-115). Once the big corp's like Sony, Panasonic and the like droped the ball, APEX swoops in and steals a market niche. The one who will win the market is the one who gives the consumer what they want.

    QWell they might not, but the uni taht did the study has released the jar files to scan for the exploits. Simple matter of extracting the classes and if need be de-compiling the byte code.

    Borland C++ Builder would be my choice, it basicly meets every requirement his boss asked for, and on the things it doesent, can be easily done. As an added plus, in a few months you will add the capability to compile on linux/linux compatable unix (AIX etc..) just by copying the sorce and changing any OS api calls that had been made.

    Have you ever tried destroying a lego brick, there almost indestructible (Just step on a pile of them at 4 AM, i bet you will break before they do). Now i can see your point if say they were tyco bricks, but legos are some quality shit :)

    IMHO netscape was better then IE till about version 3, then it went downhill from there. You know the M$ version cycle thing, takes at least 3 times to get it right. Palm has had pleanty of time to get their shit together, and this is further proof that they havent yet.

    It does support hot swapping via IBM's channel paths. You can vary a channel on/offline and replace the offending piece of hardware. As far as disk drives go, they are all contained in a large DASD hot swapable raid controller (ours support about 4 TB of data at the moment)

    You can hack/upgrade it easily, you can (With a 4000 series) download your mpegs onto your pc for later editing/consumption ;9 The commercial skip feature is nice of coarse, ooh and the ability to send your shows to the other room/continent is a plus, but slow even with a broadband connection.

    yeah and in the first week of palms IPO it went from $160 down to $35 and in the months to follow it was down as low as $5 and lower. I know i shorted them all the way to the bank.

    Im personally anoyed at the negative moderations, say for instance you have hit the karma cap, you post something and it gets moded up to +5 (Still at 50 karma cap) the someone comes allong and you get moded down -2 for some reason or another, now your at 48.

    This actually pisses me off, i only have 2 yrs of college credit, but i could code ANYTHING that needed to be coded in about every known language, at least on a x86. That includes device drivers, vmm, etc... not just drag and drop vb applications, but of coarse since i didnt play counterstrike for the last 2 years because momy and dady didnt give me shit except a kick in the ass after HS, i will continually be overlooked when applying for jobs or promotions.
