Can you effectively give me a definition of the word 'artist'? Van Gough cut off his own ear in the name of a woman not expecting his work to be worth millions, yet today's artists EXPECT to be millionaires because of their work. Seems a bit hypocritical to me. If these people were true 'artists', copyright wouldn't mean a damn thing.

The funny part is, time (for measurable purposes) is a man-made constant. How fast or how long it takes to go from one place to another needs to be measured; hence some scientist studying the stars and calculating day/night; fall/spring and rotational theory. By the theory itself, time (as measured) does not halt, it merely slows down for the observer. That's why if light speed were available you would see an older friend (of the same age) upon your return. Time travel would be accomplised only when 1=1 in the e=mc^2 equation; which according to Einstein isn't possible...making it a theory.

I agree with this. I've been telling friends, peers and colleagues for a long time now that anyone who believes homo-sapiens (or just life on this planet in general) are the only life forms in the universe are shamefully narrow minded. I really have a great deal of disdain for people who take the stance of 'you need to show me to prove it' on issues like this one. Even the scientists on the Manhattan project weren't sure if the results of the initial nuclear explosion wouldn't ignite the atmosphere; which was (and is) a HUGE leap of faith in your calculations. Sometimes this faith is well founded and it's also a characteristic of human nature; if it's not, then you're not human which ultimately proves the point.

But that's exactly the point now, isn't it. EP 1&2 can't be taken on their own merits nowadays because we already know the end result. That's the problem with prequels. If GL didn't have the cult following on this series that he's enjoyed since 1979, EP 1&2 might enjoy a different following. People tend to have good memories and I don't think 1&2 would get bashed so much if we never saw the last 3; IMHO.

No cut on you, but I don't think ANY movie(s) after 4-6 could have lived up to the expectations that they set precedent with. From a completely benign point of view, movies 1-3 are the prequels to an awesome (yet predictable) movie series in which the movie filming techniques have improved faster than the storyline (thanks for the 10 year break, George). I think if 1 & 2 were released today on their own merits we wouldn't be so harsh to judge; just like if 4-6 were released today we'd be like....'WTF?...are you serious?' Either way, they're just different and 'ole George is just trying to finish up the series, which needs definate closure....even for a prequel. I know I'll go see it!

Your point is valid, however some of us 'elders' had to actually sit down with a book, a pen(cil), a calculator and a piece of paper to do our homework. This simple process is what gives young minds the necessary abilities to NOT rely on a machine to do their thinking for them (calculator exception). Can you possibly imagine what the scientists and engineers of Saturn I had to go through? The first space flights (and even now, to a certain extent) had to have actual charts and graphs on board to help them figure out complex mathmatical compuitations; along with a pen & paper. I'm not saying that current technology shouldn't be relied upon, but not at the sacrifice of good old fashioned learning.

He is subject to the law as it was writtn YESTERDAY. Now, if I killed someone 10 years ago...I'm still going to punished; under the law written 10 years ago.
