  1. Re:My two cents... on Voice Activated MP3 player · · Score: 4, Insightful

You seem to be missing the point.

If your mp3 player has 3000 songs, and you're looking for one... you're gonna be doing quite a few clicks on that radio to get to it.

The voice navigation will work a bit faster. Make that a lot faster.

This thing looks really cool... I mean awesome, except for two things.

First, it's $800. Second, it has a 320x240 screen. Who wants a screen that small anymore? You get better resolution on any $100 Palm now...

Am I the only person that thinks the hum of the hard drives and fans comforting?

I like the sound of my tower in my room at night. A completely silent room is just eerie. Maybe it's just because I've had the computer on for so long.

My Centrino laptop makes the most horrible high pitched squeeling noise when it's not on AC power... I'd much rather have fans :)

Honestly, musicians that travel are normally professionals... and like the parent said, we do our work on laptops.

I've got my laptop setup to be a complete portable studio. Sure, this little guy would be fun to play around with, but it's a toy, it's not something that a musician would WORK with.

Obviously it was a malacisious use of the domain, and I think the verdict is pretty much secured, so it would be fun.
