    I don't know why this hasn't been mentioned, but you can set a master password on your Firefox password manager to make sure that your passwords are kept secure via encryption.

    We have those in Vancouver as well, except we have articulated and single electric trolleys. Great idea, virtually silent.

    I don't know where you live, but in Vancouver no roads were torn up to put in tracks or stations built. Our trolley system relies on overhead wires which caused minimal disruption when installation was done and no modification to existing roadways.

    Did you actually install it? (or are you a typical /. reader?) It has a "GPU" option for stress testing your graphics card if you have the latest DirectX updates installed.

    How is TELUS competition to Shaw? They have a very small footprint for deployment and inferior technology:

    You can get a maximum of 2 TV's streaming at the same time with TTV assuming you're right next to a DSLAM/CO and you can only get 3.0Mbps Internet if you have TTV.

    Back in '05 when our local telecommunications company (TELUS) in British Columbia went on strike, some lines were cut and service for a couple thousand customers was lost. Of course, the first thing the company does is blame the union for sabotage.

    Turns out it was just some thieves cutting the lines for copper, but that didn't come out until a month after the labour dispute ended.

    Most likely the same thing happened here, thieves aren't exactly smart and most union employees would not risk the bad press something like this would generate.

    I'm planning on leaving Vancouver for the 2 weeks during the Olympics. I hate the fact that it's coming here in the first place, and that the rest of the province didn't get to vote on the referendum that's going to cost us tax payers billions of dollars.
