I don't know, but I find that laser is the way to go, it may only be black and white, and it may be expensive. But it lasts.
I have 2 Okidata OLE 410E's and a HP LaserJet 5, both excellent printers, and the catridges usually last me about a year at a time.
I still have all the original laser printers that I bought, while the other printer that I got which was a inkjet died within a year, and wasn't all that good quality wise.

Yeah, I noticed that just after I posted the article. My mistake, that and the fact I had just freshly reinstalled my FreeBSD box and hadn't had a chance to install a word proccessor (with spell checking). OO.org was like 5 hours into the build.
-NickServ(service@dal.net)- The nickname Duranos is not registered.
Uh huh, yes you were part of DALnet for 6 years, how come you let your nickname drop? That's pretty ironic, means you cant have been on for about 90 days. Considering nickname dropping is currently disabled.
We have been perusing the OpenBSD mailing list, and also an article found on deadly.org pertaining to the newer security features in OpenBSD. While alot of the features are new to OpenBSD, they are not new to BSD itself. The MicroBSD project integrated stack-protection into its 0.1 release back in 2001. The integration was done by Hiroaki Itoh on our servers in early 2001. While we have tried to clear the record and provide the correct information to the BSD users, both through www.deadly.org and slashdot.org the submitted articles were rejected. A direct email from the deadly.org site quoted it as sheer flamebait, and untrue.
Well,we know differently and intend to only set the record straight. This almost seemed as though MicroBSD information was being censored, yet the clear facts still stand as they are.
When it comes to "Stack Protection" capabilities we not only released it in MicroBSD 0.1, we were the first BSD to do so. We are not looking to start a flame war, but the acceptance of truth and the reliazation that OpenBSD is not the forefront of certain capabilities and technologies. And there are others with "Vision". The article which includes an email that was posted to the OpenBSD misc mailing list. Specifically the context thereof containing these two phrases
"The most amazing thing about this new buffer overflow stuff is that it appears noone in any other project has commented on it in a public mailing list anywhere. Eerie silence."
"I don't know about how you guys view that, but to me it is pretty depressing that none of these other projects (or their users) see the impact and import of these changes; that indicates a large lack of vision."
New, maybe to OpenBSD itself. But not to the BSD world overall. Im not looking to start a flame war or anything here, but the MicroBSD project at http://www.microbsd.net is actually the first BSD based system to integrate the ProPolice work into our tree over two years ago. I myself had this stack protection code integrated by the author of the code on my systems in 2000 which was integrated in the MicroBSD 0.1 release. Yes, We forked OpenBSD, Theo and the OpenBSD group have done a wonderful job,as have the rest of the BSD groups and we have coat tailed a bit, but we are growing from a core team of 6 people to a larger group. We will continue to integrate the Best Features from all the BSDs and share the code as we have done in the past, like CGD from NetBSD, and porting Jail from FreeBSD, along with Features not found in any other BSD but MicroBSD so far. We had FreeBSD/OpenBSD stack protected systems in 2001 and believe we were the first BSD to integrate the code.
OpenBSD the first... No, just a larger project with a larger user base and more exposure. We just wanted to try to contribute. I think the quietness of everyone is due to this not being "new", maybe new to OpenBSD, but not new over all. All the BSDs have a reason to be there, and hopefully through time we will become known as such also. This is just my rant/thoughts on the www.deadly.org post and the mailing list traffic.
I think the issue that is going to take hand in this is the fact that DALnet will no longer have any big channels on their network.
Do a `/list >200` on DALnet, how many of the top channels are related to piracy. Once you get rid of these channels, what's really left on DALnet?
I believe that this is a great move, but you are going to have alot of "warez kiddies" mad at the network, and then people will have the problem of both "packet" and "warez" kiddies taking their revenge out on the network.
I guess I can now download 40GB of MP3s, this is getting really annoying. I can't even rip any of the new albums I've bought, it's made me less motivated to buy albums and just download them from the internet.
Somehow I don't think TheRegister is going to get/.'ed, it gets enough hits from slashdot as it is. Alot of articles are posted from there, it has way sufficent bandwidth.
Well here (Canada), the reason I don't get picked for jury duty is because I have contracted work for firms, and by breaking that contract I could be sued, I have to provide them with a contract showing that I would incure losses, etc.
Also, if you will incure sufficent losses in doing Jury duty, at least in Canada, you are let off.
Yes, you can run Linux binarys on FreeBSD, and it's easier, and may be faster then the actual Linux binary on a native system.
kldload linux &&./sick-linux-binary
Don't forget to brandelf it too, if the said sick-linux-binary happens to have a broken elf header which says it's a Solaris binary or whatever,
ie: brandelf -t Linux sick-linux-binary
Since while FreeBSD will use the elf header to make things like Linux emulation work, Linux just ignores it, meaning a lot of tools like to produce incorrect headers.
Make sure that you have the package installed before running evil Linux binary's on FreeBSD.
It's only been delayed 3 months, how is that a vaporware? At least the FreeBSD core team makes sure they have a quality release before they actually release it to the public, unlike other Operating Systems..
We've lost over 30,000 jobs in BC because of this, and you say we're whiney, look at the bush administration. At least our Prime Minister can spell, and knows the names of other country leaders.
It's hard to get recordable media at A-Power, usually you have to phone ahead, and half of the time they don't have it..
Just like they don't have half of their other stock in at the time, with me living in Coquitlam, and going out there. After saying they have it (about a 30 minute drive), it's a tad annoying.
But, it's still better then going to Metro Town and buying them there..

GNUWin is more of a package of "windows friendly" applications, ones that have proper GUIs and stuff, it's not like Cygwin at all.
I fixed this problem by storing my servers in my garage, instant cooling even in the summer months.

Its because people don't bother to report on people switching to Windows, it's a given fact that you were probably running Windows to begin with.
Now there has been stories where places have switched to back TO Windows on slashdot before. I recall one from last year.
Took the liberty to setup a mirror for topgunlinux, as it has been /.'ed and the downloads of the videos are slow, you can find the mirror here..
:)
Have fun

I downloaded FreeBSD 5.0-RC2, and burned it 4 hours ago, this is very weirdly worded. Somethings fishy about this ;)
I have FreeBSD 4.7-STABLE running on my 486 33Mhz laptop with 12MB of ram, and XFree86.
I don't see how this isn't possible, the kernel isnt anymore bloated then it used to be.
To use the 5.0-RELEASE, or -RC1 or whatever. use RELENG_5_0 tag, RELENG_5 does NOT exisit yet. So dont try that :)
Linux is for people who hate Windows, BSD is for people who love UNIX about sums it up.
No it doesnt, Linux is for people who hate Windows, BSD is for people who hate Linux, THAT about sums it up.
You can't forget to mention IRC, it is the "art" that came after "talk" and "ytalk", and it's bases are from 1987.
Lame users can actually say "MY CABLE MODEM HAS BEEN HAX0R3D!@".. and actually mean it.
Shouldn't ISPs be more warey about security? But we see this happen over and over again.

Maybe you should actually pay attention to what happens outside your country, the United States aren't exactly the world ya know?
