You can get barley wine up to 20 - 21%, and there are some zins that come in the heavy side at 17%. Some of its not bad if you have a taste for such a thing.
Good thing there's no software that could kill someone! Except maybe in automobiles, planes, boats, rockets, medical systems, power plants, telephone switches (better hope that 911 call gets through), etc etc etc.
Its not so much a matter of certification as it is a matter of engineering rigor. As you've stated, a certification does not show anything beyond basic competency. Its required for a lot of things where we put trust in people not to screw up some potentially life threatening task, and yet not only does there not exist such a thing for software development, most people would likely scoff at the notion that one was required.
Its the same way with doctors and civil engineers. I'll take my bypass (both heart and highway) from the guy who was to busy getting shit done to get board certified.
With the resources of Google. Pretend your the engineer tasked with making this. "Hey, boss, we can spend 3x the time writing in in Javascript so its compatible with all browsers or use our inhouse Silverlight tech to get it done faster. What should we do?"
Of course, they didn't have this conversation. It went: "build this in silverlight and let me know when its done."
Right, but usually (if its done right) there's a delay in the release and the crack (barring of course, someone leaking it prior to retail). If that release is long enough, people can become impatient enough to buy the product outright. If this happens every time you put content out, you'll pick up the "gotta have it now" customers who would have just gotten it free but will now pay because they're so hooked.
Could it possibly be because unions are part of the problem where bad teachers are concerned? Its almost impossible to fire an incompetent tenured teacher because of the unions. There's an entire room of teachers in NYC that sit there all day because the union rules won't allow them to be fired.
Uh, aren't scientific findings generally supposed to be taken literally? i.e. X causes Y, A is true because of B, E is a subclass of F, etc etc etc You can preface with "evidence shows" and whatnot, but when stating something as a scientific truth you generally aren't meant to be taken figuratively. And from the religious standpoint, which parts are to be taken literally vs. figuratively? How is one to tell the difference?
Exactly. My college had an honor system. We'd have take home tests and stuff. If you were caught cheating, you got kicked out of school, plain and simple. They did boot about a dozen people a year, so the cost/benefit of cheating meant you took that D and worked harder the next time.
Yeah, its too bad they don't include more unsubstantiated facts and editorial opinions with strong biases in the summaries. I was just thinking how much I was missing that!
I recommend this one by the author of ANTLR, which is a far superior alternative to lex/flex yacc/bison IMHO. The book uses ANTLR as an example, but is not limited to it. It explores the theory of DSLs and the design around them. A great buy if you need to do this for a project.
So you understand Bush, but most people have trouble understanding you. I suggest freezing yourself for 500 years and going to see the doctor:
"Don't wanna sound like a dick or nothin', but it says on your chart that you're fucked up. Ah, you talk like a fag, and your shit's all retarded. What I'd do, is just like... ha ha... like... aha... you know, like, you know what I mean, like... haha... Don't worry scrote! There are plenty of 'tards out there living really kick ass lives. My first wife was 'tarded. She's a pilot now."
Um, they saved a majority of command line users a few days or hours, and the minority that couldn't do this themselves now can. Anything else you're wondering about?
Hey buddy, you and your "facts" can go fuck yourselves. I came into this discussion for some microsoft I mean M$ hate and I'll be damned if I'm going to let a few sensible facts and reasoned posts get in my way. Someone make a chairs joke, stat! Also, can we somehow work 640K into this? Lets see...640K seconds of sleep should be enough for anyone...umm....640K computers will only allow themselves...hmm...wait, I'll get it..
What about chapters, indices, metadata, etc? Txt does not do these well, and having a straight up text file with no way to jump through chapters or anything sucks.
For delivery, not storage.

That's the theory anyways. No idea if it works.
Sorry, could you repeat that at a higher moderation level?
Exactly. There's no room for realistic video game characters. Only cartoon-like action warriors shouting one-liners as they mow down Nazis please!

Uh, if a plane with a 200 foot wingspan crashes into a dense urban area that its patrolling 24/7 you don't think its bad times all around?
Yeah, its good too. Of course it can't really a replace flex/bison as it doesn't output C, which is why I've gone ANTLR in the past.

We're referring to NoCal here, so you need to say "brah" or "broham" please.
He meant what he said. Good choice on the username.
Mod parent up! Epic slam at the '$oft, brah.

Posting like a know-it-all without even the minimal attempt at verifying basic facts is a game everyone can play!
You could also put strychnine in the guacamole! There was salt, big grains of salt...

Prepped and ready for deep frying?
