  1. Linux solution on Thin Clients in a Computer Lab Environment? · · Score: 1

If you would be interested in a linux solution, check out K-12 Linux. It's designed for elementary/high schools, but it could easily be adapted to fit your situation. I've done some messing around with linux thin clients, and it's not too difficult to get a pretty good setup going.

This is a neat little physics project, but it isn't a guass gun. A real gauss gun uses Lenz's law to propel the projectile. (It's can be a very powerful law, hehe...). The problem is that a real gauss gun of quake-like power would be much to large to carry. But they certainly are very cool.

Switching to bigger ads is not a good idea at all. I definately will not pay to get rid of them. Currently, I sometimes click on the ads just because they are sometimes actually good ads for things I am interested in. If they change to huge jumbo popup ads, there is no way I'm putting up with it. If they do that, I'm blocking the ads and I won't ever click on them. It's really a shame, slashdot is one of the few places where I would ever click on an ad.
