Has anyone used Symantec Internet Security 2005? This program is horrible.
1. Doesn't catch all viruses which negates any use of having an anti-virus.
2. Takes way too much system resources and can bring a fairly decent computer to it's knees.
Now they want to add anti-spyware into the mix. Why don't they fix thier current products first before releasing even more crap?
You are argument seems very similar to issues that are raised where I live and work. Its seems people come and visit, then move here, and want the landscape to stay the same from when the visted. Except when the move here, they want power, cell phones, DSL etc.... So the State says how about some wind power? Oh noo, they will change the way the mountains look! Then 5 minitues later, how come my cell coverage is so crappy? Verizon/Unicel, can we put up a tower here? NO! it will change the landscape!...
I bartered with an elderly guy that is a former college Art teacher and an avid painter. I would come by once a week and he would have a list of questions about his computer and we go through them, and have a good time chatting from everything from computers to baseball. We set up a system were I gave him 50% off my normal fees, and took 50% off the paintings he would normaly sell. The paintings are great, and something I would never be able to afford. More often when you barter, you get more than you would have gotton paid for.
The fawning continues. I am beginning to think that the Slashdot editors have Google lust.
Let's get serious here, who cares about Evan Williams web blog. I find that as interesting as watching E tv. That's basically what a blog is, a play by play of all there actions, who cares. If people spent more time listening to their friends, and family and less about what goes on in celebrities lives (Evin Williams seems to be one around here) then maybe this world would be a better place.
Yup, pagers. In some parts of the U.S Cell phones are not the most reliable. Where I live in VT,(the state next to New York)the terrian is not cell friendly. It is also not cost effective for major cell providers to put up transmitters everywhere. They just want to the cover the Interstate, and not many people live on the Interstate.
I also work for a small company that has a very nice christmas party with door prizes and a very nice bonus. It's pretty safe to say bobbleheads of the owner will not be given out.
Living in the Northeast in a mountainous area I find having a text pager is more than suits my needs. Not to metion the cell service is horrible. If someone needs to get a hold of me they can text page me or send a voicemail. It allows me to be in control of when I get back to them, plus it allows me time to think about there problem or question before I talk to them.

I find this post to be very humorous.
Someone who is stereotyping the whole D&D crowd from a website who's tagline "News for Nerds...."
