What do the EPA tests measure? emissions/mile, emissions/gallon? If they are not actually measuring miles per gallon (ie how far a car will go on a gallon of fuel) then their figures should not be quoted as mileage, period. That regulation needs to be changed.
You cannot legislate the internet. Like it or not, the internet is a global communications network. Go ahead, make spamming illegal in your piddly little country. It will make no difference. There are dozens of other countries that spammers can operate from.
I was thinking metal detector, not a weigh-scale. The can-phone looks like it's made of plastic, and will undoubtably have a different "signature" than a can.
This is the most insightful post I've ever read on Slashdot. Kudos.
Along with mankind's desire to go, is mankind's desire to be somewhere better.
Will we have another manned mission to the Moon? Yes, eventually. Will we have a manned mission to Mars? Yes, eventually. Will we have a colony there? Well, how many colonies do we have in Antarctica? None. Just a few science outposts. Why? There's nothing there but cold and snow. There are better places to be. Ultimately, the real reason we haven't been back to the moon is that it's all grey rocks. Why bother? There are better places to be. The same thing will happen to Mars. It's all red rocks. Scientifically interesting, maybe, but that's about all. There are better places to be.
No wonder they didn't write down what he wrote in the sand. It would like, double the size of the book.
You do realize that practically all bible versions are copyrighted right?
Well, we do produce more oil here than we consume.
The first amateur rocket to reach space is not interesting?
That's a technical solution, not a legislative one.
You can have my cola when you pry it from my cold dead hands!

What happened to areas 1 through 50?
Powering it is not a problem. A nice tall pole with a solar panel on top placed a few metres off the trail would do the trick.

Really folks, is it so hard to throw a tag around a url?
Perhaps you should try googling for "moped".
Check this.
Nobody uses the leading 3 on 1337 anymore.

You get to win even if you steal the case?
Aluminum<>tin? Dang! So that explains why they're still able to find me. Curse you Alcan! You're in on it, aren't you?
I can pretty much assure you that few merchants are going to let you haul in a scale and weigh their inventory.
Easier way: Measure a full case of cans. Record the results. Any case that differs from that result will be your baby.
Obviously this was shot in a bowling alley :-)
Sounds great! Where can I get a copy Mac OS X for my 800MHzPentium PC?
It's called a typo.
Nevermind how much info they can gather, but rather, how are they going to mark the sidewalk?

The chances of being IN a shipwreck in the middle of the ocean was also small. Most shipwrecks happen on stormy coastlines.
