Still rules for now, when will serial ATA will come out for the consumer market? seemed like a slick deal for me.
As for ATA 133, it's just a holding tech until Serial ATA comes out (god knows when)
Nanobots set up for desctuction and stick a couple of millions of those into the water supply, there goes the people....
Don't you guys think nanobots could be used as an efficient weapon?
But seems like bound to fail like the rest of the high-speed wireless services. The service area is small (low demand), high speed (lots of money).
It's another dead end if they chage for a hourly rate, would be way to expensive for anyone to get it.
The government needs to support these companies in order for them to reach profitability
If you don't mind waiting for it to come to US (If ever) and like the look (which looks slick) and don't mind paying the price tag.
For the rest of us, probably be better off getting a console + DVD player.

I know what you are getting at but Wintel boxes are so cheap now, Apple cannot possibly beat the price. OS X looks really slick now and I am actually thinking about getting a el cheapo iMac just to play with OS X, but then again, it will run like garbage on a 233mhz CPU.
It is hard for average Joe NOT to attract by the low price tag, HIGH mhz number for an iPOD (which cost around same as a El-Cheapo PC).
I say bring the price of the Apple boxes down and I will certainly get a mac box for fun.

It's Lithium-Polymier (SP) battery, the cool thing about this kind of battery when you compare with other types out in the market is that you can shape it into ANY size so you you can make it really really thin. I don't think it offers better performance than lithium ion though.
Following devices that I know of are using this type of battery
iPAQ, m505, CLIE, HP's New PocketPC and probably other handheld devices.
Doesn't seems like a bad deal after all

You gotta admit, it's pretty nice. too bad it won't work on other platforms though.
Why won't they release iTUNE for other platforms when they are giving Quicktime away for free? Apple make no money off Quicktime (client) but they can actually get some nice profit from this device.
I know they want people to buy macs, but who would buy a mac solely for iPOD?
$999 for a PC that look like a VCR? I don't think so.
You could probably build yourself a cheap PC with all the functions sans the look for less than 500.
This will probably fail, way too expensive.
That companies are converting their photo archives into digital so that photos will stay the same forever.
I disagree of what he is saying, I think converting to digital will ensure more people can look at the work and make sure the quality stays constant.
This one is actually faster than IE6in a lot of ways.
On the other hand, what's up with the themes, seems like none of thoes old themes work here. Not a good idea when user support is still at its infant stage.
the whole and the sole purpose of domain names is for people to REMEMBER the domain name, it's already hard to remember with.com.net.org but now we've got.biz,.pro,.us.whatever. How am I gonna remember anything know
Domain name is suppose to be EASIER, ip seems to be a much better deal right now, it's free and there is only 12 digits to remember.
and btw, when the new mod system are gonna be in place, I am sick of reading goatsex crap.

iPOD sounds like a better deal if somoene would get it to work on PC. I mean, who needs a burner when you have a 5gb drive on to go?
HD's price has gone down so much now CD just are just not that attractive no more
but then again, I have 5PCs at home, none of them has a firewire port.
Yes, it happens but ONLY with the TBird since it desont' have the thermal probe bulit in. the Athlon XP, Athlon 4, Athlon MP (same thing anyways) have this feature built in.
I almost wish it was that fake device over at the Spymac. seems like ipod is nothing except a huge ass mp3 player with firewire.
Creative Jukebox anyone???
What about that? I remembered someone pointed this out just a couple of days back. It's not too annoying and people might actually read it.

Do you know how much do all those freaking servers cost???? You need hundreds of servers to get Slashdot running the way it is running.
What about bandwidth? You need some huge pipes to get the speed going.
May be we should start donating servers to/.:)
I think they still have a strong presence in the arcade market right now. It kidda make sense because Sega is making games for XBox and would be really easy for them to port games from XBox to the arcade, seems like a no brainer to me.

Yeah, EU is probably gonna screw MS for once since MS doesn't have all the political power it has in the states.

Linux is a good OS because of its stability, putting windows on linux is like introducing viruses onto system That is just evil.

Agreed but most of the times are just plain stupid. It's a shame that people are not respecting the system.
I have five boxes at home but Terminal Service is much better than KVM, it's cheap, requires no hadware and no physical installation (I hate wires).
