plugins used to be supported before apple bought soundjam mp and turned it into iTunes. I am not sure why they removed it, but I bet the framework to add them is still in the codebase. I bet apple didn't want any plugin architecture to be able to add other music stores or the like.
I don't think MS has a problem with brand recognition, as everyone and their brother knows who Microsoft is. If the point is to sell their products, they missed the mark. There was nothing informative in the commercial at all that would make me want to buy anything they make.
Yeah, they clearly have a similar problem understanding technology as you have understanding gender. The author's name is Kathryn Small. Don't know many guys named Kathy.
CNN's whore of a reporter Nancy Grace berated a woman to the point she committed suicide as well, and she faced no prosecution for it. Why should this woman be treated any differently just because she used a pseudonym? This would set a horrible precident if allowed to go through, and likely make criminals of almost everyone who has used the Internet.
Any software that was created in the past few years which vista 'broke' were most likely poorly designed or were associated with managing or doing the functions expected of the OS itself (with a few exceptions.)
I have to disagree. The average user doesn't care WHY something broke, broke is BROKE. If something was able to be done in one version of windows, whether against the advice of MS's best practices or not, and then doesn't work in the next one, who are they going to blame? The program is the same, only the OS is different now. To 95% of uses, it is obvious to them who's problem it is. Break compatibility and the only reason for sticking with windows, in their mind, is..er.. out the window.
This is just Mother Nature helping the shipping companies with the high price of gas. Opening the NW Passage saves having to go around that whole South America thing or go through the Panama Canal. See, it is all part of W's plan for stimulating the economy!
You're thinking of their caching service. NetStorage is different in that they actually host the physical file, they don't just cache the file for you.
Why don't they just use a 3rd party distributed storage system like Akamai NetStorage? Then they don't have to worry about adding capacity, redundancy, etc. All they have to do is upload the picture there, and Akamai mirrors it all around the world.
If you'd RTFA, you'd note this part:
Power Considerations
Nvidia has made great strides in reducing its GPUs' power consumption, and the GeForce 200 series promises to be no exception. In addition to supporting Hybrid Power (a feature that can shut down a relatively power-thirsty add-in GPU when a more economical integrated GPU can handle the workload instead), these new chips will have performance modes optimized for times when Vista is idle or the host PC is running a 2D application, when the user is watching a movie on Blu-ray or DVD, and when full 3D performance is called for. Nvidia promises the GeForce device driver will switch between these modes based on GPU utilization in a fashion that's entirely transparent to the user. So, yes, they hear you, and are making improvements in this area.
Anyone know what the response time on this is? Did they relax the times to get the wider gamut? Color is great but fast response times are what I really want. I could not find any information in the link(s), so it must not be that good or they'd be touting that, too. How can you do video editing with a low response time?
You can certainly trigger the window.print() command in the onload, but setting the properties of the dialog to what is needed for this exploit cannot be done. VBScript may allow further printing options, but I suspect the page would first trigger the standard scripting warnings and the user would still be forced to intervene.
I suspect it has a better effect in person. The video camera only has a flat field of view, so it is transforming the curved surface into a flat representation. It may look more natural in person. That said, it doesn't look really revolutionary, just projecting onto a mini and inverted omnimax screen, and relying on the FOV setting in games to add the additional depth.

DDR3 RAM Explained

· Score: 4, Informative
I came here to say the same thing. The whole article can only be called a theoretical comparison between DDR2 & DDR3, as there is not a single benchmark that compares the two. Where is the latency, bandwidth, power consumption, etc charts for DDR2 & DDR3 when running at similar clock speeds? The author says that people are taking the latency increase too seriously, and that it doesn't come into play, but then under the "downside" discussion, they mention the latency. Also, when all the arguments they use preface concepts with "in theory" or "should" kinda makes you think they're just making this stuff up. I'm still waiting for an AM2+ chipset that will support DDR3, as the Phenoms (I think) have a memory controller that supports it. That should give the AMD chips a boost when compared to the current crop of Intel chips as the on-chip memory controller should allow for better usage of the RAM, but again, I'll wait until a benchmark confirms it. Intel motherboards, at least to me, seem to be 2-3x as costly as AMD varieties, and don't always offer the same BIOS flexibility. Not to mention the top-end Intel chips are 2x as much as the top-end AMD chips, and I still prefer AMD over Intel when building my own systems.

However, stub resolvers which ost clients use simply ask your local DNS server directly...
I think you just had a hijacked DNS server relocate your "m".

I've been using/creating websites since 1994, and I don't think I've ever even seen an ASF file for download. I assume it is a windows media format?
How will **** know what **** you are referring to? Your post needs more cowbell.

Sweet, Excel will be able to compute every cell in a worksheet to 65535 in parallel! What a time saver!
Just wipe it off with some kleenex.
Different kind of "balls", so what works for you won't work for them.

George Carlin said "think of how dumb the average person is. Now remember that half of all people are dumber than that."
apologies if I've butchered it a bit, but damn if it isn't spot on.

your analogy needs work. Mythbusters got a lead balloon to fly. Perhaps next time you should use "go down like a fart in an elevator".
Awesome! Would you like a medal or a monument? What stocks should I buy next week? Who will become the next president, oh wise prophet?

No, really moooooove on. We've ruminated on this joke enough. Hoof you no decency?

What has Greenland ever done for you, anyway?
