What is with this sudden desire to compare apples to oranges? I love my retro machines more then most people, but i don't run around comparing an 8 bit device to a modern 64bit laptop..
If you just have to compare, at least use something like an Atari ST or Amiga which would have similar features ( or even better a STbook ).
For less i disagree. The kindle is great for what its designed to. For someone that doenst like reading on the 'pc', i dont mind at all reading a book on a G1 kindle.
And just for the record you DONT have to pay to read books on it. there are 10000's of legal free books you can put on there, even more if your morals are a bit 'grey'.
I was thinking to myself... why is this any different to any porn site out there? Is porn now prohibited in the US?
According to the US Supreme court, yes, *porn* is prohibited and has been for a while now. *Adult material* isn't. ( and they get to define which is which )
If so they have to publish yearly statements of income/profit/loss/etc. If they are faking the numbers, its fraud time.
I agree, in the 'pc world' old is a Kaypro II. Not that fancy MSDOS stuff.
Or piratebay, emule, or TONS of old shareware sites that are still out there, like umich.edu
Software is the least of your problems with older hardware.

You can store data on a rock, or on a optic crystal. Trying to 'weigh' it is just stupid, as its all about context.
But i thought god's laws were absolute and not subject to interpretation.. huh, go figure.
Or a contract?
People break promises all the time. I'd hate to be left holding the bag if they change their mind down the road.
They are consistent if nothing else.
You pay for the book via taxes and don't get to keep them from class to class.. Sounds like rental to me.
Since not many will buy them, i don't think it will be a huge problem.
I also assume that you can recycle used lithium?
Netbooks and 'pads' are different markets.
Lets hope they don't price themselves out of their target market.
As they would be tossed out of court after judgement.
Morons.
I disagree as even if they were good, there are still people that want OSS solutions, especially in the security area, so they can audit the code.
And Symantec's product does this? A good 1/2 of the people i have to go clean messes up are running that damned Norton.
Is a kick in the teeth. Good way to lose business.
I agree, he broke he rules damned well knowing it was wrong ( and just stupid ). Toss his ass in jail.
Are the torrents of the plans up yet? :)
Yet.
Once you get used to virtualization of your resources, clouds become 2nd nature and will open up to use by traditional businesses.
When you have to have a fully running infrastructure, the little guy has no real chance of competing on the 'service' side of clouds.
Now, competing on what you run ON ( or under ) the "cloud", OSS can still be relevant.
Wasn't aware of that. Is their conversion any better then mobi?
for 500 i agree.

Also, mobipocket will do your PDF conversions for nothing.
Tho i have to admit that native PDF would be MUCH better.
Sounds a bit small.
Nice little dDos attack device, with one hell of a use fee at the end of the month ...
And works well. Let them go off on their own and play around, and let the rest of us get some work done.
What is next, complaining that wheels aren't the coolest way to get around town?
