Nothing new here, It happens all the time when filming shows and movies 'on location'. People get compensated for damages. Life goes on.
Tho i'm curious what they were setting off this time, considering the time they blew up that cement truck was huge and no reports of personal damage on that one. ( 1000 pounds of high explosive in that one )
Its a short step from this to IDing a person via a 'traffic camera' at a physical rally, especially as drivers licenses are starting to be scanned and entered into facial recognition databases.
No I'm advocating property rights.. A rare thing for me actually.
If you don't like the terms of service, choose another service. Until they are declared a monopoly by the courts its a free market. A game will never become a monopoly, its a GAME, not a fundamental service.
Before ALL content is restricted and you can only post 'approved' items.
"but you can run xyz to get around it!" for now, just wait until TPM/DRM tech is *required* to run. Then your files ( and thus applications ) themselves become subject to approval by the future 'internet content governing body', a wing of the UN.
Enjoy what is left of your freedom while you can. Dark days are coming.
And before you label me as just 'yet another tin foil hatter', if i had told you a decade ago we would even be having this discussion you would have called me paranoid, but guess what, we are. ( which i did predict 15 years ago.. too bad i was right )
Well, for them it makes sense to dump the radically different tech ( regardless of its future ) and stick to things they know. BioFuels are about the same as what they have now, so their engineers are already there, as is the infrastructure for distribution.
1 - i never said it *sucked* i said it should be retired.
2 - If you are impressed with what they have done over the years to keep it alive and advancing, ( which i did give them credit for ) then you would be REALLY impressed if all that time and money was spent with a modern architecture instead. And no, tossing new instruction sets doesnt qualify as a fundamental change in architecture.
They became "the monster channel" a few years ago, as even reruns of real science fiction is rare now.
While i personally don't like 'horror', Its perfectly fine if they want to be wall to wall evil fling fish with teeth and weird guys that wear hockey masks, but please don't call it scifi..
Shouldn't have too. Story summaries should be enough, that is what their purpose is.
If they don't summarize properly, why even have a 'story' and not just post a link only with a note 'cool stuff here'?
Depends on what you consider 'near'.
If normal precautions and notices take place, then all laws have been followed.
Accidents do happen, you need to calm down.

No, its a major blow to free speech in general.

Ok Ok, so i'm kidding, sort of.
This would be something the average hobbiest could experiment with on commodity FPGA boards, on a smaller scale of course.
Let me know how that works out, especially when what you are smoking runs out.
Would be to make more copies :)
Seriously tho, take inventory, get management support, and start buying licenses or yank software.

In production I have found that RAM is more important then CPU, if you have to make choices.
The *last* thing you want is swapping.
And if you cant, you just use 'server' instead of ESXi.
Its not the end of the world if what you have doesn't have hardware vm support.
They can make any demands they want.
You are also free to take your business ( and code ) elsewhere and put them out of business.
