    This type of throttling seems like it could be a real problem for Video On Demand applications, since suddenly slowing down your connection when you're streaming video could result in some pretty lousy viewing experiences.

    They wont really care, unless you are buying your content from them. Then they will make an exception.

    It's what happens when you let monopolies like this thrive and grow.

    And lets say this thing flies, What about those of us that don't listen to RIAA backed music? What happens to the non cartel tied bands and labels?

    This sounds like just another way to cut indie groups/labels out of the business, and stick it to us non-customers to me.

    If you are talking about 'electing someone for the people', they are all the same once they get in power. The system is larger than any one person and consumes those that might actually intend to do good and turns them into "yet another politician" that serves to perpetrate the system.

    No, the only real way to make a difference at this point in the game does require you to leave your house.

    It would impossible be for the average person who cant even get their VCR to stop flashing 12:00, which is 99% of the market.

    You cant include hard core techie types in this, as there is *always* a way around things.

    Independent labels found an outlet through internet radio and former FM radio listeners are embracing it enthusiastically. The FM radio lobby is extremely powerful and they conspired to use the royalty fees to drive the internet radio out of the market. That is not how capitalism is supposed to work.

    Agreed, but once you have virtual monopolies its no longer true capitalism anymore.
