    Steve has to decide which is more important to him, privacy or stockholders.

    If i had his bank account, i think id choose privacy.

    When i tried 4.0 I didnt expect it to be primetime and expected rough edges, but i also didnt expect it to be a dismal unstable failure.

    Seemless apps is a nice thing to look forward to, as a user.

    Want to make it more fun for them? Just encrypt everything all the time.

    Ya, its a great idea and everyone should do it. Only problem is later when they outlaw all encryption where the Feds dont hold one of the keys.

    Then it wont matter what you are transmitting, they wont have to goto the expense to figure it out. Just the act alone will get you a prison term.

    No, I'm serious. Other then some questionable eye candy, what can i as a user get out of 4.1 that would make me want to switch from 3.5.x?

    I dont have time to be a developer, so all the 'under the hood coder stuff' isn't directly important to me.

    Dont get me wrong, ive always preferred kde, but after 4.0 giving me nothing but grief i need good reasons to switch again.

    So i guess if you encrypt everything, even if you are 100% legal you will be falsely accused, retaliated against, and perhaps have a civil case you can file?

    Or will they just fall back on the fine print in their contracts where the ISP can pretty much do what ever they please, anytime they want?

    mosix was based on transparent sharing of CPU resources across dissimilar machines, so its sort of the same idea.

    if you have fiber to the desk, I/O isn't as big of a problem.

    Need? I agree not yet, but it could leverage what you have better..

    An entire building of mainframe hardware would be even closer to 'the cloud' as it could share processing across the cpu's once you got out of batch and into something interactive like TSO.

    I also can see a legit use for root kits like this, just make all your PC"s appear like a VM server and spread the load around.

    I never said i did or didn't approve. I'm trying to stay away from that judgment call, as either side would just provoke an argument with people, which is not my intent.

    To answer your question, if Hitler had won, yes i do think he would be considered 'great' as the Nazis would be writing history.( assuming i was still here and hadn't been wiped out of course )

    Since itâ(TM)s rather OT ill keep it short:

    The main point was to make people think. Not so much about the man and if you consider his actions good or bad, but how his actions are portrayed and how relative that portrayal really is. History is written by the victors, and if the south had won he would be considered a hero. The north had won, so he is considered an assassin. Either way, he was willing to give his life for his country, which qualifies him as a patriot.
