I don't think you are accountable for *illegal* activity since you didn't actually commit the crime, that would be like leaving your door open and being arrested for sexual abuse because a burlger raped your underaged daughter during a robbery.
So far having an open wifi isn't against the law, tho you are violating the AUP of your ISP most likely and can be cut off.
Viruses and malware? Shouldn't be an issue if your inside network is properly protected. The wifi is on the outside of your DMZ, right? If others spread it around, thats their problem.
Its not our fault you are paying more, so why should we suffer the same fate?
That makes ZERO sense and is a tired, lame argument. We of course want to better our situation, and if others dont follow suit and roll over, that is their problem.
Besides, our nation is far more spread out then yours, and we rely on private transportation. ( for both daily life and food manufacture, which we export a lot that food )
I don't think it was actually ignorance, it was just showing his irrational bias against nuclear and trying to lump it into fantasy land to influence peoples thinking.
But i agree with you, it didn't really have the effect he was thinking.
However, i would go so far as to say while nuclear is an very important piece of the domestic energy puzzle and needs to be brought back on track, its just one piece.
Didn't you hear, opec has decided they pushed the bubble far enough and is going to scale back the 'waters testing'?
We go thru this all the time with them, they push prices up to where they get worried we might actually go find an alternative, then bring it down just enough ( but higher then before ) to quiet us down and lose interest in alternatives.
Its a cycle that most people are too stupid to see, and thus we are stuck in it.
2) business video conferencing, even in the face of $4 or $8/gal costs, just hasn't taken off. Codecs are available that can do a very good job of offsetting bandwidth needs. Its slowly gaining in use. Just like 'work at home' or 'alternative work schedules'. Its just taking time for business to get in the swing of the new way of thinking, but it is happening, slowly.
Does this include Access? If so ill be trying this as soon as 1.0 hits the FreeBSD ports tree. 2003 is pretty important for me to be useable ( and i don't mind having to use native windows libraries for the time being, i'm licensed for it since either my machine came preloaded, or its an enterprise license )
Any pointers on these 'tweaks' for 07? I know there is a lot of noise out there, but some good , some useless.
Not slighting them in the least as they have done a Herculean task to get to this point, but i do wish they had made the actual MS office suite a requirement for 1.0, not just the viewers.
This isn't about Bush bashing. I happen to agree, but i was just commenting on what will become a bashfest and the true issue will be lost in the noise. You are speaking rationally, which isn't in vogue here when it comes to political issues.

You didn't *take* anything. This is as bad marketing as 'stealing music' or 'stealing sat TV'.

No, I wasn't a troll post. its your blind hatred that made it appear as such.
Looks clear to me from reading the summary, they get 2 paying accounts instead of one.
Because targeted spam is incorrect?
WTF?
Years of bitching about the government if O gets elected? Umm we already were. ( always are ... its human nature )
I see the propaganda machine was only partially effective in your case.
Many of the 'brightest' don't want to work for the government, for various reasons.
Some of these reasons are practical ( less income then in the private sector, tho more secure... ) others are more personal and moralistic.
Or when it becomes your ONLY source for approved ( i.e. government controlled ) news.
That is why digital TV is being forced down our throats. Cant have that pesky hard to manage analog signal running about out there.
In case you didn't know, they offer significant student discounts and 120 day full functional demos.
Oh, and any IT person worth his salt has at least one version they got from a Technet or other Microsoft road show.
Show him the laws and penalties and walk away. Let him decide if its worth it or not.
Don't get into a discussion of 'morals' if you want to keep your job as they are both irrelevant and relative.
As people start getting hit with bills due to the soon to come 'pay per use' internet plans.
Perhaps if enough 'average Joes' get bit by DRM they will demand it to be gone.
Until its mandated by law to 'protect the children from terrorism', we can still speak with our pocketbooks.
The bird can earn you a ticket in my state. So can flashing your lights.
But who's flag ? That could be taken several different ways and should just cause the viewer to think. ( much as my sig is meant to do.... )
"you suck" might incite road rage? Hmm go figure.

Even Microsoft cant do that between versions.

Really, it would have been either party, and any person in office that would have fought this.
They are politicians, what do you expect?
