Last i heard service companies ( unless they explicitly have a contract with you stating otherwise ) aren't liable for your data other the 'best effort', so i don't see how that applies.
If she had sensitive data on there, she should have pulled the HD first. Sux to be her.
So i guess the idea "due process" doesn't apply in the UK. I thought it did. Poor saps.
Because i don't believe in IP rights, I don't support it even if you are tried and convicted, but at least at that point its clear you actually did do something wrong in the eyes of the court.
Yes i have/do manage people, for more then 20 years. No i don't trust them any farther then i can throw them. Never have, never will. ( and just to avoid falsely being labeled a hypocrite on this, i don't trust management either. Or anyone on 'the street'. No one is trustable. Just some are more of a threat then others. ).
Once again, I didn't say asking was the *same* as breaking. Asking means you cant be trusted from that point forward, and that fact must be acted upon before you have the chance to break it.
Just because you don't follow it, does not mean logic doesn't exist.
Pseudo-moralistic? Morals are completely relative anyway. Christians?? What part of any of my post had a religious aspect? None that i see. No need to drag that useless fanatical nonsence into a logical issue.
Why yes, i have been a Rush listener for 15 + years now, and am a fan. ( not a blind follower as some are, but a fan )
This is what the end result of the entire napster debacle. If the RIAA had just ignored napster it would have remained in the 'shadows' and the entire music scene ( and the whole idea of IP rights for media ) would be different today.
But nooo they had to call attention to things. You would think people would learn from others mistakes.
1 - People can not be trusted. At all. None of them. 2 - People that ask for a contract to be broken can be trusted even less and are a liability which needs to be dealt with quickly.
There, that logic simple enough to follow for you? ( not saying you have to agree, but since you seem to have trouble following the logic in the previous post i figured id make it even simpler to understand )
And there is a big difference between making a valid suggestion to a current project that can be exploited and asking to break a contract. Personally i wouldnt compare the 2 acts.
Just assume *all* items not directly related to the actual flight will be taken. Ship in your tools to your site via fedex/ups/usps and avoid the hassle ( and less to carry ).
You need to read my comment a bit closer. It doesn't breach the agreement, but it does put into question your integrity and intent to stick with the contact you signed up for when hired.
As a manager, if you came to me asking such nonsence, id never trust you again for any project and you would be on the short list to be out the door.
Did i comment on age alone? No. I commented on the 'shape' she was in, which could be at any age.
*IF* your dad is still capable of "kicking my punk ass" ( which i honestly doubt, since you would be incapable as well. You know, its its nice to be loyal to family, it can also be misplaced ) then he wouldnt be considered a liability would he?
Yes, i do feel *illegal* immigrants are a security problem, and building a valid wall is a step in the right direction. By calling them simply 'immigrants', you are part of the problem. They are criminals, and should be treated as such.
How is this different then those 25 cent plastic pill boxes that have compartments for all your drugs, all nicely labeled and sorted for each day? They easily show you what you need to take, and if you missed anything. No batteries either!
If we cant make it an 'i-something or other' and give it an IP address its of no value? Sure, technology has its place, but sometimes just common sense is all that is needed. When a hammer is all you need, bring a hammer, don't re-invent it just for the sake of inventing.
No, of course no one has achieved it totally, but we can at least try. Building a wall/fence and shipping people back that are caught ( instead of making excuses for them ) would be a good start.
Once fundamentals like this are in the works, then 'nice' things for the future like science can be discussed. Our priorities are seriously out of whack here.
It was more of a joke, as i *HATE* TV anyway. its the real reason i never noticed. What i watch, the writer strike had ZERO influence over.
Ignorance of the law/contract isn't an excuse.

Does it talk about how to get the bloat out of X, and perhaps low bandwidth?
Not bashing X as its got its place and is universal, but no one can honestly say its resource friendly.
I didn't notice a change in tv ... didn't even know they were gone.
tell me again why i care?
Now you see why the administration is trying so hard to get that immunity bill passed thru.
Doesn't KVM require support for VM in hardware? ( ie, newer hardware ).
Leaves out a lot of people that don't have brand new fancy stuff. ( or have things changed )
Besides, its all shades of grey.. Its incremental.

No, i consider it 'picking your battles'.
This will be a long and drawn out war to regain our rights, and its just beginning. There is no need to be taken out so early by something so trivial.
"OpenBSD is completely uninterested"
What you really mean is 'Theo doesn't use this feature, so it cant possibly be important to anyone else in the world'. OBSD is a one man show.
Licensing choices has nothing to do with this.

she sounds like she has reached the stage of liability anyway.

Or they might just fire you on the spot since you can no longer be trusted to abide by your contractual agreement.
If you cant even manage to secure your borders.
Or are we hearing from the RIAA? Similar stories, both irrational.
