    He was wrong about the why, but not the how. All he lacked was continued funding to prove his concept on a large scale. ( on small scale, it worked fine ).

    Sure, it wasn't as efficient as other methods, but it worked. Often times you trade efficiency for convenience in daily life.

    You may not, but some will. They will also discriminate at work due to lack of understanding and irrational prejudice. They might deny infected citizens housing or not let them eat in a restaurant or enter a grocery store.

    Labeling anyone in public is a potential effective death sentence, regardless of the particular disease. This isn't the something as typhoid where you can be infected just from being in the same room, unlike HIV where you are safe. And even then the person should just be isolated until the risk passes, not be broadcast all over the news they had it.

    While that is commendable, user training is more valuable and goes towards solving the problem instead of hiding it.

    "Sorry we don't have these windows things you speak of", will be safe but "Why yes, we do have medicare, here is my SSN... " may not be.

    Its about simplicity and cost. Its *far* simpler than tracking via cameras ( especially real-time ) and cheaper than a phone, which is often banned in schools anyway and since they are not school owned like the RFID tags, there might be some legal issues.

    RFID is super cheap, reusable, and simple to automate the tracking.
