    Who's laws? Ours? Theirs? Some humanoid caveman? A dolphin?

    To think we know all of reality is absurd. We only know a small part of what is going on in the universe. Not only that we could easily be running on a false assumption/observation that would completely break down every law of physics we think we know.

    We have not been around all that long, we are NOT experts.

    This in my opinion is one of the 2 main flaws that our founders left us with. The supreme court can simply refuse to hear a case that has made it all the way to their door.

    Now i wouldn't want them to be bogged down by minor issues, but if a case makes it thru all the appeals and is a constitutional issue, they should be required to hear and rule on it.

    Being able to pick and choose, makes them more powerful than the other 2 branches combined, when it should be a check/balance system instead.

    Microsoft has said that Motorola's patents are standard, essential parts of its software and that Motorola is asking far too much in royalties for their use.

    WTF? Go cry me a river. Since when does a company ( that isn't a monopoly ) have to be fair and charge 'reasonable' prices? Especially to the competition...

    The default assumption of these automated checkers is that anything shared is infringing

    And that is all by design. Its a natural extension to the PR campaign to sway peoples opinions by manipulating their knowledge.

    Hate to break it to you but us in the BSD camp haven't been hand editing much lately either to get the basics going. I haven't edited a xorg.conf in years, or ttys to get x/kdm to run..

    Many ports even add themselves to rc.conf to auto start....

    Given the numerous articles about copyright enforcement bots recently, it makes me wonder why there is so little human oversight about account banning

    Because the average Joe on the street has no idea what is going on. All the articles and discussions are only to/by/for the choir.

    And once the average guy does figure things out, the media will step in and twist it around so he thinks its a good thing.

    That was about the same time i jumped ship and went to BSD ( 386BSD first, then Net.. Then Free.. now PC ( which is basically Free + a pretty installer and some cool utilities )

    Or was it 4.3, then net.. its been a while and i honestly don't remember, beyond that i moved to the other camp, mainly due to the coming fracturing of the community, and the general degradation of the people in it. Didn't want the confusion or attitude, plus it was tons more mature.
