That any actual users will care that their journal is now owed by some giant conglomerate. The only people this really affects are those that contributed to the open development of livejournal.
AIM doesn't use a closed protocol. There are two different ones you can connect to AIM with, one being Oscar, and I forget the other. But one is open, and the other is not.
What about mexican jokes? Canadian jokes? Surely you jest. Maybe it's because Canadians and Mexicans crossed across the land bridge from Asia thosands of years ago. We all know Americans did not cross this bridge therefore are not subject to such jokes.
Nothing says, 'I'm cheap' on Christmas like giving out burned CD's of free OS's!
I bet you gave out bootable floppies of FreeDOS before you got a burner!
Honestly, even if Microsoft were to take hints from Mozilla and implement tabs, extentions, skinning, and png support, and make their browser bug free (heh ok, that is going a little far) people would still criticize them, just for being Microsoft.
And I bet a fair share of those that would be criticizing the new browser would refuse to try it as well.:P
Well, as of now there are none that I know of, but I'm sure with the large development community there could be a viable alternative to those that have modded consoles. There already is one for the Gamecube.
If you want to use their service, use it per their terms. If you don't want to use it, do whatever you want to your XBOX, it's yours after all. Can you really blame Microsoft for not wanting to allow people to use potentially pirated games on their service? They have to make money too. I'm not a huge fan of Microsoft, but what they're doing here makes complete sense.
And yes, I realize that modding your XBOX has legitimate uses, but in the long run, most users do this to play games they haven't bought yet, and not to develop the next version of XLinux or whatever programs they put out.
This is starting to get better and better. Pop3 is very conveniant. They make note that they may implement IMAP soon, but don't hold your breath.
Don't get me wrong though, I still love the web based interface, it's very good for when I'm not at my home computer, but I think I'd prefer pop3 over web-based anyday.
By the way, there are still a handfull of free pop3/smtp providers out there, ifrance being one of them, you just have to look a little harder than you did a few years ago.
Is he recognizing the legitimacy of the PSP in the market in relation to Linux's legitimacy compared to Window's?
Or is he just being an ass? (I believe this to be more likely;) )
Does this really have any practical use? I remember DeCSS had something to do with decoding using prime numbers, but other than something like that, what will this actually achieve?
My point is mainly, if the half of people inside the country aren't being listened to (this goes anywhere) then shouldn't someone stand up for them? I'm not saying militarily, but if the UN publically denounced the results of the elections then maybe more people in the country would be willing to stand up for their rights.
What if the UN or some other international organization were to step in and question the legitimacy of this election, since US officials see no need to do so?
Never having played either myself....

My friends that have played it all share the same opinion pretty much. Halo 2 is a rehash of the first one with improvements in the multiplayer area. So if you want to have a party, bring halo and you'll have some fun. Unless your friends are addicted to the fast paced nature of FPS' like UT.
Don't forget, Halo is locked at 30fps and plays rather sluggishly compared to PC FPS'.
I can't even get civ3 to work! It tries to force my monitor to 120hz at 1024x768 which is absurd. The solution to this problem is: get drivers for your monitor. Sucks if you use an old monitor, and use windowsxp (shh, no flames, just testing it out, and got stuck in it because i have school-related material on here). Yea, if you don't have 2k drivers for your monitor, and have this bug with Civ, you can't play it! Why would a game try to force such a high refresh rate in the first place? Most game's i see force to 60hz on startup:/
One of the greatest (imo) strategy/rpg series of all time is Shining Force. You do have to use strategy in this game, oftentimes you will be outnumbered vastly and have to manage your units resources (mp/hp/potions) or you will be wiped out.

You'd think with that logic that Team America woulda finished off the Korean jokes with Kim Jong Il's song. ;)

I didn't see any mention of the battery life on the site, I can only imagine how quick those die. And I wonder about heating issues too.
It seems like getting and giving GMail invites has become some kind of sick and twisted bizarre subculture too.

At least they didn't cite god's will as the reason. ;)

Are they going to use a large pringles can for this?
