Public opinion is worthless on issues where the majority doesn't actually have one.
That applies perfectly to popular vote. The opinion of the public is used to make important choices. But the opinion of the majority of the public is highly malleable. Some people are poorly informed, some are wrongly informed, and some just can't be bothered.
The McDonalds in my neighborhood just closed down. I think it's the simpler, cleaner, faster, and superior Dick's Burger's down the street (kinda like the google of burger joints =P). And the space is being filled by some Japanese cuisine.
OSX preemptive multitasking allows the CPU to do other things, not the user. During a 1-2 second animation, the CPU can do plenty more than animate. But I can't do anything but wait.
Some animation is cool and non-intrusive like the dock icons sliding about when apps open and close. But this prefs pane is really irritating.
I rented and 'won' GTA3 over thanksgiving break and I still want it for Xmas. It's so huge and there's so much to do, I'll play it all year and not get bored.

More likely cosplay = costume play. Japanese words normally alternate consonant and vowel sounds (always as far as I've heard).
However, I've never seen this stuff before so I'm guessing.
[ jimsibook ~ ]$ echo $SHELL

* however, root is set to tcsh.
* however, I need not root with sudo
Also compiles and works perfectly under Mac OSX (with no modification).
Only if 10 white Americans get killed does it become news. Ten Mexicans, Egyptians, Chinese, whatever, no news.
