Me and my brother both downloasded and played this game, its the SHITS, its got NOTHING on wolfenstien, the models are shit, the textures suck, the interface is STUPID (mystery meat interface), the guns are stupidly unbalanced, the level(s) are boring, theres no classes which equals no proper teamplay, and you walk stupidly slow, you shoot at people but for some strange reason you miss anyway, evne if u hit them dead on, the controls feel sooo crap, you get stuck on door frames, and the voice acting sounds like its come from Goku now watch as im moderated as a troll even though i brang up these points, PLEASE prove me wrong and tell me why

Id get ready IMO to say goodbye to Direct X itself, ms aren't stupid, once theyve tempted all there developers with new features of direct X which is xbox exclusive, theyll drop Direct X support for the pc, therefore all the gamers who want to play the latest games will go and get an xbox I find it very intresting that they chose to use Direct X as the first victim, this only lends me to further belive my theory. Still, perhaps im wrong

  4. I think the whole thing with design on The Evolution of Linux · · Score: 1

I think the whole thing with software design really depends on a few things, how big is the project, how many lines of code, how many developers, and finally, are you ever going to make more new versions?
Bare with me here as i ramble on a bit
I'm a small time coder, i write stuff, it works. the design is in my head, in teams of coding, you definatly atleast need to explain to them waht this code is going to do, thats obvious, but do you really need to take it to the next step and start drawing up diagrams etc? Can you explain it better with the very basic start of the code of your little idea and see them understand it? I do, whenever i work in teams, i comment my code, i write function stubs, and thats it. Most people pick up what i mean really quickly. I design only if for reasons below
If the project is small, theres absolutly no point in doing a design stage, all you need to know, is what must it do.
The amonut of code you think you are going to write is stupidly important, the more code you need to write decides just how much design you are going to do, i consider function stubs to be a design idea. And i dont have any functions in my code unless its over 100 lines, whats the point? if its only 100 lines...
If you are planning on making more versions: scrap all your design parts and just write up a list of requirments, as each version grows, your going to add more and more features, design will come to mean shit, and its all about evolution, for example, i wrote a small php editor, and when i first started it, it was painfully small, 100 lines, it was notepad only allowing you to save bigger files, but as i added version after version, it grew and now, i compare the two, the source is so diffirent, its not funny, i only see 2 LINES from my existing source code, it really does change that much.
Linus is right, software is evolution.

Coincidently, does anyone remember the site that popped up when atlast 2.4 kernel was released and we got to predict when we thought 2.6 would come out, id like to see that site again to see what i predicted. Cheers

Welcome to the Xbox, a nerds best friend:

    What was done right:
The xbox acts as a cooker itself! no need to buy a microwave to warm up that pizza, just put it on the xbox!

Expensive heating is now cut down thanks to the myraid of heat exhauts on the Xbox

Balance your Tv, VCR and kitchen sink on the xbox's overly large service

Use the controller as an inexpensive door stop: big enough for even the heaviest of doors.

With all the versetile uses of the x box, we say use this common daily appliance in your every day life, coming soon: a hack to reverse the exhauts so the xbox doubles as a vacum!

P.s. for those with no humour, yes, this was a joke post.

I bet linus heard all of the same drivel when he wrote linux, it didnt apply then, it doesnt apply now As far as im concerned, ill never critize anything i cant do better (its a stupid policy.. but thats me) and this guy has done alot better than most

Simple porting of windows games to linux One less area Microsoft has a stranglehold on Games development would be easier for open source programmers A good games libary for linux Wed already have 3d and Direct 3d covered with open gl, we just gotta get the rest of the stuff covered. But IMO i think this might happen sooner than you think, it is my firm belif that once the Xbox gains motion ms will drop support of Direct X on the pc in order to convince PC games developers to come develop for its Xbox. It would make alot of business sense to do that. YMMV

Book to Movies dont often translate and perhaps its just me, but i dont think Lord of the rings will either (specially with elijah wood if that is how you spell his name: the Hobbit is meant to be a plump little red rosey grin fellow, not some skinny small prettyboy.
