Actually, Uber punishes drivers for refusing fares. And they're not allowed to negotiate the price.
Uber has lost a key legal battle in the UK after a London tribunal upheld a ruling that the ride-hailing app must treat its drivers as “workers” entitled to the minimum wage and holiday pay.
Here's a list of criteria for self employment:
* Ultimate control of the work. A self-employed person should exercise independent control and judgement over how the work is carried out i.e. the means and methods * Working for a number of people. The greater the number of client's the more indicative of self-employment status. * Working exclusively for one organisation is indicative of employment. * Profit element, and risk of loss. * Self-employed individuals usually have the right to appoint a substitute or to delegate work to others and are not necessarily required to carryout work personally * Mutuality of obligations. A self-employed worker is not obligated to accept new work assignments from the work provider and the work provider is not obligated to offer new work assignments * Correction of faulty work at own cost and time * Provision of own materials and equipment * Working hours. Generally the self-employed have greater freedom to negotiate their working hours and working practices * Integration with the employer's business. Self-employed individuals are not generally integrated into the organisational structure of the work provider * The intention between the parties * Usual conditions in the industry
There is a whole list of things which can categorise you as an employee, just because you can turn off the app doesn't mean you don't count under other criteria.
If they didn't have any business presence in the EU they wouldn't be able to make any money there so why would they run the search engine at all? Google needs the EU more than vice versa.
The problem is that trades can go for years without any work, have huge barriers to entry, and you can make millions overnight in software. Why risk life and limb every day, spending half the day driving to jobs for free, when you can sit in an air conditioned office with free coffee watching your options go up?
They want it thin so it's not too big once they've put it in a case. If phones were thicker, they wouldn't even go in your pocket once you put it in a case.
But if California is cut off, who's going to pay for all the rednecks in the Trump states to leech corn subsidies or wear uniforms and sit in air conditioned tents for four years at a time?
So now you're playing the odds as to whether you're going to be hammered by EU regulations? If you don't serve the EU you don't have to worry about their criteria.
Electric power is the whole point of the company. What the hell are you talking about. If they needed $22k average repairs every two years we'd have heard about it.

In the olden days it was 99% garbage and 1% quality, now it's 100% garbage. Where are today's films that compare to the golden age of cinema?
Socialism is banned under EU rules. Unlike the US, which leads the world in protectionism and government subsidies for corporations.
If they didn't have any business presence in the EU they wouldn't be able to make any money there so why would they run the search engine at all? Google needs the EU more than vice versa.
No you wouldn't, you remember more taking notes than reading off a screen.
Tesla's 'autopilot' only works on highways, so you'd have to look at highway fatality rates.
Nope, it wouldn't make a difference, it wouldn't increase the number of engineers, it would just mean the same number making double the pay.

The difference is Youtube's monopoly position.
What quadcopter fails every twenty flights on average?
That's their problem. The EU has no reason to give a fuck about Silicon Valley kids and their exit strategies.
Literally no-one is losing any votes by going after Facebook. Its addicts would have to put the phone down to vote.
Does a quadcopter taxi have a 5% failure rate like rockets?
It's not an extreme case, millions of Americans live in food deserts because of your industrialised food culture.
They want it thin so it's not too big once they've put it in a case. If phones were thicker, they wouldn't even go in your pocket once you put it in a case.
Quoting things isn't humour.
But if California is cut off, who's going to pay for all the rednecks in the Trump states to leech corn subsidies or wear uniforms and sit in air conditioned tents for four years at a time?
Most people couldn't do that, mortgage/rent and bills takes up most of people's income.
Going from 250kW to 350kW only knocks a quarter off charging time. That's not worth a loss of range for most people.
If it's so bad why is it so popular?
And just like in China, this will allow native European companies to take marketshare from the yanks.
