I have an install of Redmine that I use to keep track of all my personal projects and todo lists and such. It's great because it's a single place where I can put stuff I'm working on, future ideas, break larger projects into tasks etc. That's useful for putting down tasks that I'm not going to get to immediately, as well as future projects. I have a few ideas for Android apps that I won't have the time to work on anytime soon, but whenever I have an idea I can go mark it down so when I do decide to go work on it some day, it's all there. I also have a separate project for ongoing stuff. For example, "organize tax stuff", "fix bathroom cabinet door". It's a convenient place I can go note things down when they occur to me without needing to drop everything to go work on it immediately.
You're delusional if you think your "taking a stand against IE6" with your shitty website is going to get people who have been using the same browser for nearly a decade to switch. A lot of these are corporate users who are stuck with it because they have custom in-house stuff that doesn't work properly with other browsers, so it's a long slow upgrade path for them.
People who build successful websites make them work with what their users use... people like you stick "Valid XHTML 1.1" and "Optimized for Firefox" buttons on their websites to make them feel good about themselves.
The only standard that matters is what works on a majority of browsers out there. Users dont' care how standards compliant your webpages are if it doesn't work on their browser. Ideally all browsers would support the same HTML, CSS, Javascript etc., but we don't live in an ideal world. Things are moving towards better uniformity, but the fact is Opera has about 1/3 the market share of IE6, so it make more sense to ensure something works on IE6 before bothering with Opera
How exactly has Dell "done themselves in"? They remain a pretty profitable company, and have been growing in both revenue and earnings. Are you talking about the much coveted "Jailbrekr" endorsement?
Why don't computer manufacturers just install both Windows and Ubuntu, making the machine dual boot?
Most people don't care, and they'd have to deal with confused users who accidentally got into Ubuntu and want to know why everything is different and where all their files and programs went. People that do know and care can install Ubuntu themselves.
It's not even a matter of trying to draw a fuzzy boundary. This was a balloon, with no propulsion. By its very nature there's no way it can go above the atmosphere regardless of how you define the boundary of space.
You get short-tempered and agitated from turning off the TV? Holy shit. Kill your tv now, man.
He was responding to your claim that turning off the TV causes you withdrawal and makes you irritable and suggesting that you get rid of the TV in that case.
Go smoke a blunt and talk about it some more
Perhaps not relevant, but hardly an "attack"
Even though you don't notice them doesn't mean that everyone around you doesn't notice them as well. Ask your girlfriend what you're like when you don't have anything to smoke.
Notice that I quoted the whole sentence, not your carefully edited version. Again, he was making the point that even though YOU don't notice being irritable, that doesn't mean you aren't. Ask the people around you.
Is it because you have a tiny penis that you're so insecure and every statement directed at you feels like an "attack" to you?
There are other precious metals that are in much shorter supply.
Moreover, gold has very little inherent value. It has some industrial uses but the demand for those things isn't anywhere close to justifying the price of gold. Unlike other precious metals like platinum, the price of gold is driven almost entirely by speculation. The idea that gold is less arbitrary than fiat currency is pretty misguided, in my opinion.
Considering what the price of.com stocks are done you can't go wrong Considering what the price of real estate has done you can't go wrong Considering what the price of gold has done you can't go wrong
If you care so much about the "information about you", you can download it more than once every three months. They provide you a statement every month. There's no reason why they should be obligated to store this information for you indefinitely.
Some banks do that as an extra service but I think it's preposterous to claim that they should be required to do so by law.
Does it also let you easily keep track of which of them replied, who said they're coming, whether or not they're bringing a guest along etc., so you can tell the restaurant how many are coming? Does it let guests easily find directions or other information?
There are other ways of organizing events for sure (and other sites) but it's a bit silly to argue that it's easier to do it over SMS than Facebook.
I'd actually argue that's more useful, because those links take you to a list of other stories engaget has written covering those topics. If I want to search wikipedia for something I know where to find it.
I'm guessing you've never owned a business or known anyone who has. Am I correct?
A swing and a miss.
The vast majority of businesses don't even turn a profit. They make enough money to pay the lease, pay for employees(payroll, healthcare, etc), pay for services need from other companies, There's not much left after that.
You also fail at reading comprehension.
Nobody starts a business with the idea that they'll just make their money back. They enter a business because they hope to earn a good return on their investment (money and sweat) if the business succeeds.
The fact that most businesses aren't super successful is quite irrelevant to the point I was making.

Over 95% of people live outside of the US, and Apple's market penetration is WAY lower there.
You're horribly out of touch with reality
Not sure if the GP is one, but that would just be par for the course for Apple fanboys.
The real question is why your code was computing factorials recursively
5% of people

Don't let the facts get in the way.

It's called attempted karma whoring. Fortunately doesn't seem to be working so well.

See now that's ad hominem.
'nuff said
ah, ad hominem, I know thee well.
No, clearly you don't if you thought the GP's response was ad hominem.

Here, let me plug this cable into your VGA adapte
VGA stands for Video Graphics Array . VGA adapter is not redundant.
I've always been taught to use IP rather than hostname when building any database servers.
Definitely time for some reeducation then. Using IP addresses instead of DNS is just asking for trouble and headaches.
Whooosh
All US banks are required by law to offer many years worth of transaction history to any Federal agency that subpoenas this information.
There, fixed it for you.
